Like I said... these polls are hogwash and no one can convince me different... Richmond loses by 1 point at Butler...Didn't even show up against Dudley... but still. We have to prove our point on the field... and I believe they will... not mad... just seems to be so much anti-Richmond and we know why...

Agreed... I don't think they know much about N.C. football... Their system is broke. For what its worth local polls don't compare that much with theirs. I think they must base on past couple years or somethin...oh well.

The only reason I post it is because the NCHSAA will use it in seeding instead of drawing straws that's why I post it

One thing the extra week will do is those last week games will be figured into the equation as far as the maxprep ranking. The last week probably wasn't going to be included with the pairings
coming out on Saturday without this added week. Only thing
not included now will be the games played on the extra week unless by chance maxprep gets it done in less than a 12 hr turn that actual last week.
Lots of big games that last week(rivalry stuff) will be part of the equation.
This is just for those seeds done after all tiebreakers anyway.

Everyone has opinions about rankings. Though I do mine as well, which takes into account the computer AND human element, the only rankings that really count are decided during the playoffs. Maxpreps is NOT A POLL. This is the hardest thing to get people to understand. Most everyone is in the poll mentality, where one collects votes then ranks teams according to the number of votes they've received. This is a RATINGS SYSTEM. A ratings system takes into consideration a team's total body of work against their schedule, relative to other teams. Strength of schedule is one of the factors considered in the ratings system. So, you have Mallard Creek still rated high, though they are 6-2. No one has mentioned it, but for the reason of strength of schedule and how they've done against that schedule, you have South Mecklenburg still in the top 25 with a record of 4-4. Just for the fun of it, I've ranked Maxpreps' top 25 below, according to schedule strength.

Dillon - Won 7-3 - Record is 5-1.Currently ranked #2 in South Carolina, Class 3A.
Butler - Won 35-20. Record is 8-1. Currently ranked #2 In North Carolina 4A
Byrnes - Won 21-14. Record is 2-6. Currently ranked #12 in South Carolina 5A.
Rock Hill South Pointe - Lost 17-6. Record is 6-1. Currently ranked #1 In South Carolina 4A.
West Charlotte - Won 45-7. Record is 2-7. Unranked
Hopewell - Won 69-8. Record is 1-8. Unranked.
Hough - Won 42-21. Record is 5-3. Currenty ranked #19 in North Carolina 4A
Vance - Lost 38-21. Record is 7-1. Currently ranked #9 in North Carolina 4A.

Seeding is largely overrated. If your concerened about making it to the second round then maybe its a concern. If you are gonna win a ring sooner or later your going to have to play and beat someone. There is no hiding once you get past Rd 2.

That's what I said, those last 5 games, throw everything else out... you will have to play the best teams to win titles... I'm sure home field is worth a point. After round 1... be ready for anything... the best team east... the best team west nuetral field, however reg.season schedules will benefit if you played some good teams. Every game won't be easy in playoffs. Any team can get beat... Just one mistake.
