Has every team in the CPC in the top 50 in NC. Does not mean much other than topic conversation

It will take a special team to go undefeated in the CPC this year.....I think Davie is better than anyone expected, Tabor is better than advertised, Parkland is moving in the right direction and has taken a big step forward and Reynolds seems to be going in that direction as well. Not sure what to expect with Reagan, can't ever rule them out as they are very well coached and have been told their defense is top notch. Great honor for whoever comes home CPC champion this year, hope to see my Black Knights on top of that mountain!
For playoff seeding purposes for the teams that advance out of the CPC, #2-5 could be a very tight race, probably no more than 1-2 games difference in records within conference.

Gonna be a very interesting year in the CPC. Anything could happen, anyone could win on any night.

I am not saying that many teams will qualify, only that the records within conference could be very, very close. With playoff changes, very good chance of playing a CPC foe in rounds 1-3. Playing a conference opponent always makes me nervous. Hard to beat a good team multiple times each year, or God forbid in a 2-3 week period. ND has had to play CPC teams too often in the playoffs. It was great to get to play Scotland and Charlotte Catholic last year, new faces, sights and sounds. Great atmosphere at both sites. Scotland County was so full on their home side (either that or they were afraid to walk up the steepest set of bleachers I've ever seen at a high school), last year that many of their fans were on our side. Props to that school, everyone of them I sat around was a class act and it was fun to watch the game with them (a little weird, but fun). My only complaint about Charlotte Catholic was the ref who doesn't know where the line of scrimmage is (if you were at that game, you get my sarcasm) .....Otherwise they were great as well.

Where teams are ranked in MaxPreps are certainly open to discussion (and anyone who agrees with them doesn't know much about football, lol), but what this really shows me is that there are no true cupcakes in the conference anywhere from top to bottom. That's pretty impressive. The three Charlotte conferences have 10 teams in them that are amongst the best in the state, but each conference also has at least one sad sack who couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. For the CPC to not have any teams this destitute is pretty impressive. Well done to the entire conference.

Garinger is the worst 4A team in the state, period, and there's not anyone else even close. Funny thing is, though, they still had the balls to schedule Mallard Creek OOC last season, which is more than 99% of the state will do.

I really admire the kids at Garinger. They don't play for scholarships, fame or even any shot of winning, they just play for the pure love of the game. Each and every one of those kids busts their tails...and for what, really? Just to say they did it? They ignore ridicule, physical beatings and weekly blowouts, and keep coming back for more. A lot of big schools around the state could learn a lesson or two from the heart those kids show. It makes me want to give every one of them a big hug and tell them good job.

I rememeber when Garinger was a tough opponent. Many moons ago but Garinger and Olympic were good teams. Tough to get going as the city has evolved and left them for the outskirt schools.

I feel you hokie. Sounds how I feel for south Davidsons kids. All heart, but opponents are too tough in 1a for them, since they barely have even 400 kids. Garinger and SD should scrimmage or play just for their fans
