MALLARD CREEK VS DUTCH FORK

I'm not the one that's paranoid!
I can handle things all by myself.
Unlike some who need to unleash their minions to further their agenda.

This is like your 6th post explaining how you can go to the bathroom by yourself....LMAO!

I certainly don't want to go to the bathroom with you Nepsy, odd that you're thinking of me in the bathroom.
Now we know what you like lmao.
Do the boys at the creek know this? They might not want you around if they find out!

you think you're funny but all you're doing is showing your weird fantasy's and fascinations that truly don't exist at this end!
Run along Narcissist! Leave your fantasy's on a more appropriate site.

The talent comments by alot of people truly make me laugh. I am curious.....Dutch Fork was terrible before Knotts showed up. Did the talented kids just move to Irmo? How about Vance?? Where did those kids come from. I used to live in the University area. I dont recall the large scale athletic talent moving in.

The culture of the MC program has been in place for 10 years led by Mike. They have had a very stable coaching group . People look at the size and its impressive but take a look at the film of the Oline blocking 20-30 yards down field. They have been coached at a high level and it's why it's always stop #1 in this state for college recruiters.

I agree with everything you have said about the culture because of his tenure. It the bedrock of why they are good. In the metro area it is much easier to have talent move to the programs that establish this culture unless you have a period where you sit out. Some cultures raise the stakes of winning and the arrogance of the just rubs others the wrong way. For example I don’t believe it should be an big deal on the success meter that a place becomes the number one stop on the college recruiting scene. That is not the best purpose of a hs program.

I DISAGREE WITH PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THE ABOVE. I saw about 8 recent college graduates on the sideline @ the Mallard Creek game. The school being a hotbed for college coaches had a lot to do with them being college graduates. That is an awesome purpose for a HS program.

Hmmmmmm. My child lives in the MC area. he will attend MC or WC. There are tons of great football talent in the MC area in the lower age groups. Difference is MC develops it. They have summer camps, training sessions and most of teh kids play on MC field as youth ballers, middle school, or for a camp so t hey are familiar with the program. NO one at MC recruiting an 8 year old. But the 8 year old sure knows about MC and just saw the neighborhood school on TV and the barbers son playing for MC. So where is his mind this morning? What is he working to become? What school is he most familiar with?

Trent Simpson of Mallard Creek is a grown man!!! I watched this game on Friday night and he runs so hard. Dutch Fork did not want to tackle him all night. Auburn is getting a good one!

Fun to watch the narrative change. For months I read on here how MC was gonna get exposed, embarrassed on national TV and how the rain saved them last year.

Flash forward and the game was a toss up and I am now reading how MC should have rolled them because they have so much talent. Which is it??

If you look at some of the past games against SC teams MC did not play up to their potential. Various reasons in each instance. The biggest head scratcher was the second Dillon game. The biggest disappointment was the first Byrnes game. The biggest positive was this game.

This is the first season in several that MC has had a complete team with a very strong D and O plus very solid specialists but the addition of a very skilled QB allows the offensive philosophy to be much more diverse. I do not think this team implodes or lays an egg like they have a few times in the past. This squad will not see a 28 point turn around in two weeks. That is not going to happen.

I think Noler is the "MVP" for Mallard Creek. My reasoning is, I think they can lose any other player, including Simpson, and still be the favorite for a state title. Not sure if they lose him the team still has the same advantages that open the field up. They would still be able to demolish many teams and beat all teams but the "one bad night versus one great night" game becomes more of a potential season ender.

Going to try to make several MC regular season games this year. Butler, Gaffney, and Vance should all be interesting.

Great game. I was impressed by both teams. To me in the end it's still a toss up. Seemed like Mallard Creek had the edge in the end but even if they took the lead on that drive can't count out a great passing team like a Knotts team to respond with a quick drive to score. I think both teams will go undefeated from here out. I was impressed by both QBs. I don't think anybody in NC can pass as well as DF and I don't think teams are going to do to well on them on the ground.

I will add honestly I think Knotts is the absolute best High School coach in the country. I told several of my out of state fans to watch this on TV to see a TK coached offense in action.

One last thing. I know Hiatt for DF had a good game with 3 TDs. But to me I'm not seeing him doing too well at Tennessee. Doesn't have the size or speed. His success is because of Knotts passing genius. Several other of Knotts receivers put up outrageous stats while playing under Knotts but didn't do well in college. It's all because of Knotts genius in the passing game. I feel he makes his receivers and QBs better.

How do you think MC would match up with St Frances(Baltimore)

Before Noler came to MC who was most likely to start at QB for MC and what was his / their background?

It was going to be Kaleb Washington. He's a Jr Athlete. Kid can play WR, DB and LB. Not very accurate as a passer, but has some serious wheels. Played JV QB last year.

Have not seen them play but they load up. The DC Baltimore Beltway churns out some quality players. South Pointe played them to a TD a few years ago but SFA continues to up their game.

Is Washington the same defender who ran the fumble recovery in for a long TD?

No. He's the younger brother of Jadyn Washington who was the QB in MC's last State Championship appearance against Wake Forest. He's well put together kid. 6'1" 210

Hiatt doesn’t have the speed? Guess again.

I understand what you are trying to say but you are way off base on the speed part of the equation. He DEFINITELY has the speed with some to spare.

Yes maybe I'm wrong about the speed of Hiatt. He just looks rather thin to me. I saw on his TDs a well thrown tight ball that was thrown to a spot . He did his part and caught it each time in the end zone. Nothing against him personally but I've seen many can't miss receivers play under Knotts who look all world in his offense. Examples are Shipp, Raley, and to a lesser extent Massaquoi.

Huh? Hyatt will most likely be the fastest kid on the Team when he arrives at Tennessee. The kid ran a verified 4.31 forty and the MVP of the Bojangles Classic running a 10.4 100 meters & a 21.14 200 meters. Good Lord! What do you consider fast? They'll bulk him up at Tenn and turn him loose. He's also the top contender for Mr. Football of SC. I watched a kid give him a 10 yard cushion and he ran right pass him.

Ok obviously I'm wrong about his speed. I just didnt see it. I did not see it because each time he caught a pass it was a perfectly thrown ball by the QB where only Hiatt could catch it in the corner of the end zone. Never saw him with an opportunity to run after catch in this game.

That's because MC keyed on him, and decided to always keep someone on top. Give them the underneath passes. The QB throws it to a spot and he goes and get's it. Take a look at his highlights if you have the opportunity. I have never seen a deep threat QB & Wr duo like those 2 in High School Football.

Hyatt is a special talent with elite speed and has been coached very well. He does alot of the little things you dont see HS wideouts do. Sells routes, doesnt tip the DB with his eyes until the last moment.....

His only down side is he will need to get stronger. Especially in the upper body.

The other kid was no slouch either Elijah something..Not a burner but great ball skills when the ball is in the air.

I dont disagree. There is no denying that with the ball in Olenchuk's hands and the game on the line it would have been interesting. That said I would prefer to have been in MC's spot and Knotts saying he thought his team was fresher was just silly talk. MC had been rotating defenders all night and as the game went on were getting more pressure. DF rotated very little.

Hyatt was the most impressive player on the field and 1B would be Trent Simpson. It could be argued to switch them up. But they truly stood out. Both are physically impressive. In a game full of goons they were goblins. To me the key play was Trent getting hurt on his long run. If he had stayed in the game they pound Dutch fork out and win. MC had them boys beat.

Not unless your a narcissist... More kids play HS football that don't go to college to play football. To suggest this is the dominant purpose is just an ego talking. While it is a nice to be able to accomplish such an achievement it is very low on the totem pole of what is important in the HS game... that is unless your priorities are messed up.

Welcome to the real world. It’s call life. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. If you believe a program that loves sending kids to college & makes it a priority is ego talking, you’re out of touch and clueless. I can’t even phantom where such silly logic comes from.

Wow, your a sharp guy as I have read many of your posts in the past. I am guessing a coach but I could be wrong. I couldnt disagree with you more.

I am told all the time that the first priority of a HC is to grow young men. What better way than to show them that if you work your tail off in the weight room, classroom and on the field that the opportunity is there for them to get a college education played for? I can tell you for certain that had I not had that influence in my life that the post HS life would be starkly different than it has been. All started with the opportunity to play ball and go to college at a small little school in Minnesota. Gamechanger.

I get most wont but that doesn't mean the effort required to achieve that isnt worthwhile.

Smh. If you don't have haters. You not poping.

Mallard Creek got so many haters. Keep doing your thing Coach P. When does he have coaching seminars? I want to go

See I agree with you.. but what you just wrote has absolutely nothing to do with being the first stop of a college coach.. Learning how to be present and show up with all of the focus and energy to achieve to the best of your ability is always first and foremost. That is what makes a great HS coach and how they influence everyone that comes through the program.... not just the ones who have the physical size to play at the next level is what I believe makes a great program. I appreciate your comments because even when we disagree it is with some decorum.

By definition a narcissist is someone who has an inflated sense of their own worth. I doubt that would describe any MC coach ( Though I dont know them all). The disconnect is that so many people think this talent they speak of just shows up and they roll out the ball and say go play. The staff works incredibly hard to develop that talent as soon as it walks in as well as finding talent already enrolled in the school. Now...add to that the number of weekends spent in the off season hauling these kids to skills camps to help improve and garner exposure is unreal. Then of course their is the fund raising so that these kids can go to places like Hoover, AL to further test their skills and enjoy the bonding process.

These are selfless acts and done not to inflate ego but to help kids who otherwise would never get these opportunities. Hardly the act of a narcissist.

I believe what has happen here, is that you have taken hard work, dedication and commitment and turned it into your own uninformed opinion. You’re doing a lot of assuming. Where and when did anyone say anything about getting kids scholarships was the 1st and only priority? Those big physical kids you speak of, did not just show up that way. They put in 4 years of hard work.

I have been affiliated with different programs for over 20 years and some coaches are just lazy and could care less about helping kids achieve their goals. Some kids go to the military, trade school, academic scholarships, or go on to play football. There are options. There is Div1, 2, and 3 and Juco in football. Based on your response it’s obvious you have no clue how those kids who you believe are unapt to play at the next level can actually play at one of those levels of football. Also, there are kids who never play another down afterh high school and some kids could care less about playing football after high school. A program that work tirelessly to assist kids with their goals and that has established its program as a hotbed for college coaches should be extremely proud of their accomplishments. You throwing salt on all of that makes it seems as if you have an underlined agenda. You're talking down on a program because of their success because they're not doing it the way you believe it should be done. I swear. If you don't know something the best way to find out. Is to ask questions and not assume.

FYI calling people within a program Narcissist and Ego driven is not showing decorum.
