I'm not that aware with AL brown, any way a Charlotte guy or gal can give me a quick summary of Brown. How'd they beat Vance? Could they beat creek?

Brown lost their starting QB in the 1st game of the season, and then lost their backup QB last week (I don't know what his status is for tomorrow night), so they are really dialed back and conservative on offense right now. Their defense is really good, though, so they are relying on that side of the ball to carry them. They also are very fundamentally sound and do not make a lot of mistakes. They are only 3A in size (they'll return to 3A next season), so given what they have to work with, I think they are one of the highest achieving teams in the state in any class. They take their 3A numbers and represent in the MeCKa against the heavyweights very well.

Beyond that, you can't compare a game against Vance to a game against Mallard Creek in any way. Vance is finesse, relatively small along the lines for a top 10 team and doesn't have a lot of depth. Mallard Creek is physical, very big along the lines and has tremendous depth.

Brown's game plan against Vance is to basically to hang around and absorb the big plays long enough for Vance to go into self-destruct mode, which has worked the last 2 years. Mallard Creek just comes out and smashes Brown, and most of these games are just blow outs.

I expect to see the same thing tomorrow night, although penalties and turnovers might keep the score from getting as out of hand as you might think given how one sided the game will likely be. You can't teach size, and Brown just has a really hard time matching up with MC's beef, as most teams do.

Last 2 years have definitely been blow outs as Hokie says.
2015 MC 37-27
2014 MC 52-35
Now that's 2 beat downs

Brown has actually played them descent.

The defense played lights out, this is the best d Kannapolis has had in a long time. The offence just put the d in some bad position. Too many injuries on the offense right now to complete with the MC of the world. They just physically beat us up on both sides of the ball.

hokiemtc, summed it up pretty good on this post.

The playoffs is gonna be good, we look forward for the AL vs vance playoff rematch for the brown 3A send off. Would b a battle

Not gonna happen. Vance's AD posted their ADM on another site and its 1695 for 2016 (down from 1848 last year). That puts them way below the big/small cut line.

You're right Hokie, we have 1695 physically on campus but the state counts all kids that are assigned to Vance but attends a magnet school without a sports program. That's the unknown number at this point. I doubt it is more that 100-150 though.
