ACR @ TCR TC is improving with every game. The freshman QB will be really good by the time he graduates. I will take the better QB in this though. Rico Dowdle and Co. win 49 - 10.

Asheville @ NB Asheville is a good team that needs to find some intensity. NB is improved this year with the emergence of Matthews at WR. I still say Asheville gets it done.... 35-21

McDowell @ Enka This is a real snoozer. Neither team is good and I mean no disrespect to either. That is the truth of the matter. This is a battle to see who stays out of the cellar. I will take Enka 21-20. I think Enka has a little more heart than McDowell based on what I saw when both played against ACR.

Erwin begins their preparation for Asheville.

AC Reynolds at TC Roberson: I don't expect Roberson to give Reynolds a game. The Reynolds kids seem motivated and are very good at the roles they are in. Rico will get probably 15 carries in this game, but the Roberson guys will hit you. God knows they showed more heart than we did last week. Reynolds wins 42-14.

McDowell at Enka: This one is a toss up. Wouldn't surprise me either way. Its at Enka so Enka 21-20.

Asheville at North Buncombe: I can't believe I am actually worried about this game. No disrespect to North Buncombe because they are clearly not the North Buncombe of old, but this should not be a game and it probably will be. This is the most lethargic team I have seen at Asheville High in the Danny Wilkins era. They can be good if they want to be and if they decide they want to give NB their full attention on Thursday then they will win by 2-4 touchdowns. However, if they decide they want to pout around and be prima donnas they will lose because I guarantee you North Buncombe will be playing their asses off. I look for Isaiah Drummond to play alot of defense this week, particularly against Blake Matthews with Neal Hutchins on Thrash. Can someone please explain to me why our SEC commit doesn't play defense? He should never come off the field! Why would you have 6 foot 5 310 sitting on the bench? I hope we get a good crowd despite the game being on live television. Asheville 42-17, North Buncombe has a hell of a kicker. If the Asheville team last week shows up Asheville 20-17.
 
I predict Rico will run by a defender like a Kentucky Derby winner and mouth slobber will drench the poor kid.
 
A.C. Reynolds @ T.C. Roberson- The kids are rolling. They won't come out flat in this rivalry game. The Rockets get up early and don't look back. ACR wins 45-13.

Asheville @ North Buncombe- Everything points to Asheville winning big. A lackluster performance against a much improved Roberson team. Danny Wilkins has the Cougars ready for the short week. Cougars roll 35-17.

McDowell @ Enka- Who has a winless season in conference? My guess is Enka. McDowell wins 21-14. Only because someone has to win.....
 
ACR & TCR The rams are better than I thought they were this year. I like what their coach is doing with that program and his son, the 14 year old QB is the real deal. If they don't run off the coaching staff at TC, I can see them being scary in a couple years. ACR beats the piss out of them this week however. 56 - 12 Rockets.

ASH @ NB Who really knows at this point? We have the athletes and coaching to beat the Blackhawks, but which Cougar team will show up Thursday night? I can see this one going either way, honestly. Can't pick against my Cougars though. 30 - 21 Cougs.

McDowell @ Enka I flipped a coin and consulted my magic 8 ball. Both methods said the Titans by 1.

Erwin will practice for Asheville this week and Ferguson will rack up another 4,327 yards, 18 TD's and Austin will catch two passes in the end zone with ten seconds left on the practice clock to beat themselves 48 - 47.
 
If Asheville doesn't demolish NB, Wilkins should be fired on the way to the locker room.
Play calling sucks, WRs are pissed. Same thing every year.Everyone sees it except "Stupid" on the sideline. WRs #9, #2, & #7 are the team leaders.
OL #77 doesn't play both ways because he's out of shape.
Anything less than 42-0 is a letdown.

Looks like the good Asheville high so far. They are beating north buncombe up physically right now.

Christian green and battle just bullying north buncombe right now. North buncombe on the verge of quitting. 32-3.
 
I'd like to see us open up the passing game now. Everybody knows north buncombe can't stop us running the ball at all. I don't think either of our big receivers have touched the ball offensively and the last thing I saw was Reggie battle grimacing on the sideline.
 
Wilkins said he would like to not put Reggie back in, shivers could get carries now, but need to get some passes in to

I like green at Fullback, he runs better than smith, but I doubt we will see him much there next week due to we will need him on D

Every time I feel good about this team like tonight, we play like trash the next game. Tonight we played like a great team. North Buncombe is not a great team, but we beat them like we should have and that was encouraging. We didn't come out like last week and screw around. Tonight was a game that could have been 70-10 but the entire second half Reggie Battle didn't play due to what I hope is a minor injury. Aquila Smith didn't play either. Both should be back next week for the season finale against Erwin. Still kind of shaking my head how that NB Erwin game was so close.

It is sad how bad the bottom half of the mac is. When is the last time someone in the conference besides the big 3 have won a playoff game?
 
This team doesn't have much leadership, but #3 and #5 are the two leaders on this team, at least by example. Guess you could say the same about Erwin, Poore doesn't get the ball very much. I agree that 2 & 10 should get more touches though.

Christian Green and Reggie Battle are without question the two most important players on Asheville's roster. In the Reynolds game when we were getting our asses handed to us, we were down 35 points in the 4th quarter and Reynolds broke a long 65 yard run. Christian Green runs the guy down on the 1 yard line to prevent Reynolds from hitting 60 points. Reynolds would be held without any points after that play, all thanks to Green. That is the true definition of heart when you are getting obliterated and still give 100 percent with the game completely over.
And what can you say about Reggie Battle? The guy is one of the toughest runningbacks in Asheville High history when you consider how many hits he has taken in his career. He is now approaching number 4 in all time rushing in Asheville High history. Charlie "Choo Choo" Justice will likely be bumped into 5th place next week when Battle goes over the 4,000 yard mark. Other than Johnny and Crezdon, Reggie Battle is the mold of what Danny Wilkins wants as a tailback. Because Battle isn't a burner, he has a made a career in moving piles and when you consider how many shots hes taken running between the tackles, its really remarkable. Im a huge fan of those two.

I swear. I will say this and I don't care who likes it. The Cougars have the worst fans in the world. We are never pleased. Pretty sad.
 
I think the fans who care, really care, perhaps more than some of the players. Then there are some at the home games that don't stand up, don't cheer and don't even know there is a game going on. The real fans get frustrated at this team because there is a tremendous amount of talent on this roster to be so up and down. We barely beat tc who lost to north buncombe, then 6 days later we beat that nb team by 50? The real fans of Asheville high football realize this team is Jekyll and Hyde so far, the crappy fans don't know anything about them. I like to consider myself a pretty knowledgable fan

I'm a great fan myself. To be honest were pretty spoiled. We just need to take it easy sometime. The boys that play on Sunday and make millions have some rough games. Your correct. We could have beat NB even worse and I'm still scratching my head about the TC game.

My friend, contentment is the path to mediocrity. If you're happy, or content then you'll never strive to be any better than what you are. A REAL coach, fan, or parent will congratulate their kids on a win, but then say something like this; "You guys did great tonight, but here are a few things we need to work on." As long as a team is content they're not trying to get better.

I forgot NB #4 might score, but a 43 point win is great.

My opinion about AHS low fan support is:
1) They will show when it's a big matchup.
2) The ones in the stands that don't cheer are bored with a "one-dimensional" offense.

If the product was exciting and unpredictable they would show and cheer for the little match ups. Most people don't want to see AHS steamroll a weak team without throwing a pass.

Correction: I meant #2, #7, & #9 as leaders who don't contribute enough offensively.
Defensively, it starts and ends with #3.

Correction. Reggie battle will likely need 2, possibly 3 more games to reach 4,000 career yards and break choo Choos career yardage. Glad to hear he was held out for precautionary reasons. As far as I know him and Aquila will be back Friday.
 
Asheville won the jv game, not sure about the score. I wanna say 34-6 or something like that so Asheville jvs won at least a share of the jv Mac championship for whatever that's worth.

If asheville JVs lose to Erwin and ACR wins next week ACR would win the JV title. If hey both win then it would be a tie.

I thought that was a non conference game, we played Erwin twice, one conference and one non conference since our JVs didn't play West Forsyth. I just assumed Asheville would play Erwin this week as a conference game.
