Looks like smc girls doing ok

Please , all anybody heard was how great the top 4 of the nw conf is. And now that we go to a pod system the smc schools won't have a chance. The albemarle and west Montgomery would take one of the spots and the nw the other 3.. Guess you haven't read this board all year.. That was the reason for my post. I'm not bashing the nw they have proven to be a power but to not give credit to hiwasse and say oh mt airy was just young.. Well robbinsville is just young too.
As you can see by the bracket 1 yvc team and 3 NW teams would be impossible.
My four original picks were:
1) WM
2) Albemarle
3) Bishop (I think Prep will make it but Bishop has not lost when it counts in 9yrs)
4) MA
After seeing the rounds up until now this is how I see it.
1) Cherokee (I think Cherokee guys out a high energy win there pg plays big)
2) Albemarle
3) Bishop (I still think Bishop will win but a toss up between them and Prep. I will be pulling for Hayesville here.)
4) HD (impressive w last night over MA it's good to see new teams getting in Regionals)

HD isn't really new to regionals..this will their 3rd trip in the last 8 years if they beat Elkin. But I will be glad to see them back after a five year absence if that happens. I think he was more referencing a few statements you made this year about how the West teams had been lucky the pod system existed the past few years and how it was great for Midwest teams not to have to go through that gauntlet this year.

Honestly they are. You had bishop and Atkins face off in round one. The top 3 NW team come playoff time IMHO are Atkins Bishop and Prep. MA is a very good team and when they are hitting 3's very dangerous otherwise just a good team. Prep bishop and Atkins are tough to beat and will not beat themselves. Your A game is needed to beat them. Honestly it helped everybody by Atkins and Bishop playing in Round 1,
My orginal picks have been there since the projections of the last two weeks of reg season was posted. And my actual comment was "happy to share the love of the Midwest pod". And yes I still feel that way. Lol.
I also said I would be pulling for ALL traditional schools, and the 1a west is deep this year. That was proven with Rville beating WM.

Braves after your statement about the mighty NW conf I just thought you needed a reminder that you didn't fare any better against HD than this MA team. They don't have any D1 recruits like Cherokee or Hayesville and also only have two seniors on the team and only one that starts. I have nothing but congratulations for HD and hope they go far. They accomplish a lot for such a small remote school.
I was at the game I understand our girls lost to hiwasse... Cherokee doesn't have a d1 recruit... We have been told all year that nobody can compete with the top 4 nw conf teams.. I'm just stating the fact that hiwasse not only competed but had a nice size win against them.
I ll tell whats impressive is the quality of teams HD has in bball and softball right now to be such a small school. What do they have 200 kids with half being boys ... that only 100 girls to pull from... big schools probably have no idea about that... hats off to your teams HD..keep rolling
HD is really good team, they play hard and are well coach but they are beatable. A team is going to have to get # 3 in foul trouble and to a good job of attacking the basket and are going to have to make outside shots. and they will have to play we neutral officials
Well the SMC is guaranteed at least two girls teams at regionals this year: HD and the Cherokee - Robbinsville winner. The Hayesville girls can make it three teams if they get can get past a very good Winston Salem Prep team.

HD and Robbinsville-Cherokee are from different conference. Or that is how the state classifiy them. Big Smoky and Little smoky, Like Yadkin Valley East and Yadkin Valley West. All the team mention are very good but they don't play each other 2 times a year
Congrats to Hatesville on the win last night... Would be great to see mostly small traditionals in the regionals this year.
