the further west you go...less rain, at least according to current forecasts....Here in Northern Piedmont...chances are 40 per cent friday and 30 per cent friday nite....I would imagine even less of a chance west of here....of course forecasts could change but as of now games in this area, games will be friday nite.................

Lol. I didn't even know about our own game. Thanks!
Will you be there? I like meeting posters.
I do the stats for the team so I guess I have to be there but its going to be tough getting there on time. I'm a volunteer for the team so I work elsewhere.

Don't worry. We'll make sure the Eagle stats will be the same in the 3rd quarter as they were to start the game.

He remembers what happened in 2015! We shook hands, but we were very rude hosts lol.
In all seriousness though, I do have some concern this time around. EB had a tough tough schedule to start, but they seem to be playing great ball right now. It's not how you start, but how you finish. I don't think we'll have a problem scoring because our O-line is playing better than I have ever seen in all my years, but I'm interested to see what we do with an out of area team on defense.

I agree the oline has been a strength. They communicate well with each other which shows they have been well coached and have played together for some time.

EB will put 10 and 11 in the box to stop the run,but the DB's and LB's can retreat very quick, great speed to cover the pass. This team has responded very well the 2nd half of the season. Coach has them playing very well.Glad Whiteville played them early in the season.

If EB puts 10 and 11 in the box it will be at their own risk. #11 6'5" 195lb WR Keshoin Porter can not and will not be left 1 on 1 for long. If that happens the second string will be in before halftime. lol

That is great size for any wide out. Does he have good hands? If so he will play at the next level.

SWE98 sees him in action more than I do. I been watching him the last 3 years. I think he has a full ride to a FBS for basketball if I'm not mistaken. He had many offers for both football and basketball. Not sure how many were full rides. I do know he is a hell of a basketball player.

He'll be playing D1 basketball. It's his basketball skills that make him a threat on the outside. He's been double teamed all senior year because of his receiving as a junior. One corner, with a safety cheating down. Leaving him alone one on one will be great for us. Jump ball all day that he will win. RAC doesn't matter much as long as e comes down with a 40 yard reception. You'll see us go to him inside the red zone for a jump ball TD. We do have another capable receiver and our rbs catch passes too. The coaching staff has learned over the years that running 100% of the time can't get us over the hump, because as you said, stacking the box can be a problem. Can't do that against SWE anymore. It'll be pitch and catch all night.[/QUOTE]

I have always said that playing one sport makes ypu better at another. I firmly believe this. I know that Whiteville lost 3 starters because their parents wanted them to be baseball stars.Good luck to them because it an't going to happen.

Over here on west side it’s...

Tarheels vs Pitt or Steelers vs. Browns

....somebody shoot me in the head! Ugh!

Money, man. Football is the revenue king. What fans are going to a football game in the cold AND rain? That's all there is to it.
They definitely do it for gate! Playoff seeding has gate in mind as well. Rain can screw that plan royally. Example: I can't find a clear reasoning in 3a how Conley and Rose got the seeding they did to set up a rematch Rd 1 other than the gate money it draws.

Used to be that they did everything they could to prevent conference opponents from meeting in the first round. Now, with everybody making the playoffs, you can't really help it. Part of the mystic of making the playoffs is being able to play different teams. Playing a conference opponent in the first round is almost like just playing another conference game. Not really exciting. Especially if you're the team that won the first game. But I will say that not too long ago, we faced our conference mate in the first round, having beaten them soundly before... and lost. Those matchups just shouldn't happen in round 1. Impossible to avoid though when 5 out of 7 make it.

Shame it gets done because look at the Oak Grove vs. North Davidson game... a huge rivalry now and even though OG got a #3 seed there is not really a home field advantage even though playing a #14 seed ND as they are 5 miles down the road. Besides that the winner has the potential of playing the first 3 rounds against a conference team. Just dumb!

I have called MaxPreps to update all of these on their website. If your team is not showing a game tonight on the MaxPreps website as is indeed tonight please call them to get it updated. You do not have to be a coach do so. 1800-329-7324

Yeah the Conley/Rose game ended in OT with a controversial ball spot for a Rose game winning TD. It was packed at Hollywood crossroads.Video showed he clearly got the ball and hit the pylon with it. Ref marked him short. Kid showed the video on his twitter of the clear td. So it's going to be a huge gate, rain would definitely hurt it.

But think about this.
Ledford fans can go play tonight, then show up in Midway tomorrow night and pull against both of you!

Guarantee you there will be a skirmish tonight.

Very true LOL and will make for a huge crowd!! Just don’t like the fact that Could be 3 games played against conference teams. Great that it’s possible for the local teams but takes away part of the excitement of playing a different team.

I hear you.
Always been somewhat of an ND fan with several friends over that way. But I predicted two years ago that OG would become the big dog in most sports in Davidson County. There’s no result tomorrow night that would totally surprise me. But still picking OG, mostly on coaching. I’ll be pulling for the winner, either way.
