Got my first look at the Wildcats last night.......

Both sets of Cats had a good night. The girls won by six and the fellas won by around nine. Good crowd in the building.

The girls game was an intense affair. Even though ER led by around ten most of the second half, at no point in time did it ever feel safe. I think the biggest key to ER's win was the 2-3 zone. Lexington only had two girls that would shoot the ball. I have a feeling Lexington is going to see a lot of zone this season. The Jackets are scrappy and will get after you on the defensive end.

ER's going to be fairly interesting. They have a tough, competitive point guard. They also have a couple of promising young guards and a very dependable rebounder. I don't know where the new coach came from but he's pretty intense. Not sure how far they'll go....

The ER boys are going to be very interesting.......

The Cats have gone back to the future. Mr. Haley has re-entered the building. He was also sporting the biggest pair of khaki pants I've ever seen in my life.

The biggest thing that made me happy was seeing Nyhiem Lilly on the court. His quickness and strength on both ends of the floor gave Lexington a lot of problems. Also, ER has Landon Loflin, Jani Norwood, and Devonte Brooks suited up. Brooks had a fairly nice game. Between those three, ER will definitely not lack for size in the paint. It was funny watching random Yellow Jackets bounce off Norwood.

ER also has a kid (#22) that does a little of everything and seems to always be in the right place at the right time. He hit some big shots last night. It's funny because sometimes he looks like he doesn't belong on the court at all. Very deceptive guy, that one.

This is going to be a fun team to watch. ER's not state-champion caliber by any means. However, I feel like they're going to give teams a lot of trouble towards the end of the year. I'll be very interested to see what the rotation looks like around that time.

The Lexington boys have a chance to do fairly well. They don't have much size but they do have a plethora of quick, athletic guards. I really enjoyed watching Matthew Liles.
