No problem with Dudley, but if they would have played the same schedule as the CREEK has done do u think they would b undefeated right

I have no clue and I'm not sure it's a relevant question, as the answers would be pure speculation.

Will like it when Dudley has a regular season game against Mallard Creek. We went there for a scrimmage game once. Hoping for a real game against the champs.

I see them better than Mallard Creek of which they
were ranked that way last week on this site. They
are playing very good football right now as is a few other
teams in the top 10-15

Strength of schedule:
MC#1
Dudley#48

Very easy to play good football with weak schedules. Other than Butler, the top 10 -15 teams sub-par schedules thus far.. Lot of football to be played.

The defenses are a wash. Right now on paper Dudley's o is much better but the caliber of the teams they have played are not in the same class as MC. It would come down to who can manufacture 17-21 points. Neither one of these defenses are going to give up 4 plus touchdowns IMO. MC will get tested next week (I believe) on the defensive side of the when they play the best QB in the state (IMO).

There is not a Team on MC's schedule who can touch the athletic ability of the Kid from South Pointe @ who will be a 5 start recruit next year on every recruiting sight. The schedule was brutal and the remaining teams are good, but collectively not as good, as the teams they have played.

I haven't seen Dudley play. At this point I am unsure how good that schedule is. I want to say Hillside is very good but then I look at a 7-3 win over a Southern team that is now 2-4 and got absolutely crushed by something called Orange last week....so I don't know.
Richmond? Again I think so but they haven't beat a team with a winning record so again, I'm not sure.

I think there are a handful of very good teams in 4a but some of the schedules are very soft so its really hard to tell. I think Dudley has gone on the road and beat two pretty good teams in Hillside and Richmond.

Also, while it pains me to say this . I have watched a lot of SC football this year. Dillon, RHNW, Byrnes, Rock Hill, Southpointe . I think on balance it is better football than what I see in NC. Not a huge difference but coaching and physical play is a notch higher in my opinion. NC teams can certainly compete and a team like Dudley would be competitive anywhere but there is a difference.

The problem with playing a scd like MC is injuries. There is no way you play that scd and not have plenty of kids banged up and out. MC has a lot of depth to be able to deal with those injuries and play another very good team the next week. I can tell you that Hoggard has played 3 good teams in 71st, Pine Forest and Carolina Forest in consecutive weeks and when they played Clinton they had at least 10 guys either out or dealing with problems. Hoggards scd is not close to what MC has played. It is hard to answer the original question because injuries would have a lot to do with that.

I would add to your statement that there is a big difference between #1 and #2 SOS much less #48.

Tvill,
Two great teams. Purely it is very tough to say, but I would base it on Championships I guess

-Dudley High School 5 NCHSAA Football State Championships: 1951, 1966, 2007, 2008 & 2013
-Dillon High School 4 Football State Championships: 1947, 2008, 2009, 2012
S2V.........didn't you play on that '51 Dudley Team?

I'm going to say no. I do think Dudley could win two or three of those games. However, I just can't see them getting through that gauntlet unscathed.

Mallard Creek has ZERO injuries to speak of no missed games...If you knew what type of Strength Coach they have you would understand. Here is a bit of the video from last years State Championship Game with Page.....the bodies look the same this year and maybe a touch larger and more muscular...

I'm sure you are right about the injuries or lack of. My point was that it's hard to say if Dudley would have done as well as MC when you factor in injuries. If MC played that scd with no injuries that quite amazing.

Got it......Yeah they have no missed games by any starters or backups. The depth specifically on Defense is very good but the injury prevention weight lifting is key and how they have built up in the offseason. Usually once a team plays MC they are pretty beat up the next week.
