What I understand, from either the Charlotte Observer or my contacts at Lake Norman, Trent did not make contract with Montverde, rather they contacted him and made the offer for him to come there, full scholarship, to play for and with their team that was last years 33-0 High School National Champion.
How could anyone turn that down? Their list of NBA players is long, their national championships are many, and the opportunity to play against the very best competition in the country is remarkable.
Montverde's gain is definitely Lake Norman's lost.
