Interview with Coach Johnson. Go horses!

Loved the interview sounds like he is all about the kids and all about the community so i take back a recent comment i was totally wrong.....talked about his coaches sounds like a awesome mix of new guys and old Lewis staff.....and sounds like he wants to be around for alil while which is good cause we need stability.....looking forward to seeing him Coach sounds like a winner on and off the field

It was my first meeting with him. He has a infectious attitude that makes you want to stop what you are doing, suit up, and get to work. We have a bright future ahead of us I do believe.

Im back after taking a break from that basketball thread. I got a son starting in middle school and sounds like the new football coach is a winner. (Going to miss Lewis) sounds like things are going good. Keep it between the lines with no crazy.

That was a great interview, and I hope you can begin weekly shows with the coaching staff. You are absolutely right, Coach Johnson has an infectious attitude, I could almost visualize him smiling during the interview! Darkhorse #34, you're right about how he may use Mohamed Kaba, lol!

We would love to do a weekly show. If you know of someone or a business that would like to sponsor it let me know. It's inexpensive and gets results.

Good job on the interview. Coach Johnson is a very positive coach. I have met and talked with him on 3 ocassions and have been impresses since meeting him the first time the day he took the job. If you listen to him you will almost never hear him refer to his players as kids, he refers to them as young men, players or most often children, and thats the truth, they are children.Looking forward to seeing the DarkHorses!

Like Darkhorse04, give me a uniform, I'm ready to suit up lol! I'm also looking forward to seeing Kaba and Cruse at the LB positions. That's going to be a solid core!

defense should definitely be solid....expect a big season out of Sloan on the defensive line aswell.....power run defense should be worlds better than a season ago

Normally im out there and i count myself but well you already know lol
Hahaha! I've been checking the Sampson Independent online, but they're kind of slow when it comes to the sports page. They seem to be more interested in the local community college.

Still want to linger on the argument uh 04; its never been a issue until you brought it up. Its still not.34 mentioned some former players having issues using the facilities, but theure has been no discussion about closed practices until last Friday. It's really not a issue. Coach didnt bring it up.

34, FOOTBALLFANATIC, 04, according to a close source who speakes with Coach frequently he reports that 10 new varsity members reported Monday, that is10 that had not been with the summer workouts for whatever reason, jobs, camps school, out of state etc. The jvs are given until this friday deadline to report. The jvs potentially are a large group in numbers. Heard alot of good things. I'm not surprised as the Horses are returning a group that won back to back conference championships. Our team last year was not far off the dial. It would not surprise me to see this team do very very well. I think we are going to have a very strong run defense. Secondary has to come together. I think the Horses with the line and # of backs, will be able to run on most anybody in the state. Coach stresses special team play and likes Beamer ball. I havent heard anything about any kickers yet, but i personally heard coach say he will always have his best players on the field for special teams play. Its going to be a interesting season and potentially a long season!

That’s great to hear, and Wiz, guess you win. It’s my fault no one can watch practice now. Sorry guys.

Who said no one can watch practice now? If i want to go watch practice I'll go watch practice. Coach Johmnson knows me, if I get run off, I get run off, but I dont think thats going to happen. Not really a issue

I can’t make it to the practices so the issue is moot, at least to me. I’m just excited to see this year’s addition of the Dark Horses and the beginning of a head coaching career of this young man. I’m going to try to make the Cape Fear game, hope to see some of you guys there! It will be great to place faces with individual NC Preps handles. GO HORSES!!

Our numbers are about 62 which is about normal for us about a 50/50 split varsity and JV looking forward to seeing the team in action at the scrimmage Wednesday

Off subject but seems like a pipeline has opened between Clinton and Allan Hancock college i see former DT/OT TJ Boone and former Clinton/HCA RB/LB Quinton Faison have joined Ryheem Skinner out in California
