Hate to split county rivals but I would move West Lincoln into West 3 to give that conference another team. I don’t like a 6 team league but it is a whole lot better than 5.

You would have to have split conferences...there is absolutely no way the NCHSAA will allow 3 and 4 team conferences. There shouldn’t even be 5 team conferences.

Here’s a thought. Take 100 of the kids who live inside the Thomasville city limits from East Davidson and 100 from Ledford. Send them to Thomasville. That would allow Thomasville to replace East in West 3A and you could put East Davidson in West 2A. You could take the 100 that live closer to Thomasville High School than either of their current schools.

Green Level will be plus or minus 1600 students in two years. They opened this year with only a freshman and sophomore class.

Also, Oak Grove is in Davidson County, not Forsyth. From OG to McMichael or Rockingham County is a LONG bus ride. So is Thomasville to Anson County. All of those will push, if not exceed, 2 hours.

Andrews, just northeast of Murphy, is a small 1A school. T.W. Andrews is in High Point.

And how would the independents (First Flight, Fairmont, etc) qualify for playoffs and put together a schedule?

I don't know if all of this would work - the 3/4 team conferences seem to be the weakest link to me but I definitely appreciate your work. Some really good ideas! Nobody likes them but in some places split conferences are really the only option. I love how you did it though - these are the rules I've given myself and I'm going to abide by them. More of the world should follow these guidelines - great job!

Green Level will be plus or minus 1600 students in two years. They opened this year with only a freshman and sophomore class.

Also, Oak Grove is in Davidson County, not Forsyth. From OG to McMichael or Rockingham County is a LONG bus ride. So is Thomasville to Anson County. All of those will push, if not exceed, 2 hours.

Andrews, just northeast of Murphy, is a small 1A school. T.W. Andrews is in High Point.

And how would the independents (First Flight, Fairmont, etc) qualify for playoffs and put together a schedule?

I think you can see how he might think OG is in Forsyth considering they have a Winston-Salem address. Also Oak Grove to Rockingham County and McMichael are closer to an hour by bus than they are to 2 hours. So he got the Andrews mixed up - he's got over 400 schools to research - and unless you are from 1 of those 2 areas I'd say that is fairly easy to do. Also he covered how the independents would make playoffs in Part 1 of his proposal - I didn't love it but he says the same thing and they have to be eligible somehow right? You can't punish a school because there are no other like-sized schools around them.

Considering that there are two high schools less than 10 minutes from Oak Grove that are within 50 kids of being equal enrollment, this one doesn’t make sense... But I think we’ve established that already. Again, I appreciate the effort. I also appreciate the original poster sparking my curiosity and giving me a reason to root around on Google maps.

No problem...not trying to rip him, just pointing out some shortages that I observed. I know this took a lot of hard work, and it's not my intention to discount that in any way.
