High Point Central had a good game plan last night, SEG was intent on stacking the box and stopping the run, and HPC took it to the air and was able exploit some matchups on the outside.

The game started rough however, SEG got the opening kickoff and on the 1st play of scrimmage broke free for 58 yards, 2 plays later they were able to punch it in and go up 6-0. I think Southeast's game plan at the start was very aggressive going for the 2-pt coversion on their 1st Td and then on the ensuing kickoff trying for the onside kick it didn't really pay off though as both attempts were unsuccessful and gave some of the momentum back to HPC. And soon the Bison were able to respond with a Td of their own to take a 7-6 lead and never really looked back.

The 1st half was pretty much a back and forth affair with HPC's moving the ball with the passing attack and SEG doing work on the ground. The Bison had a key stop right before the half though as time expired to take a 21-14 lead into half-time. The 2nd half was all Central however as the running game came to life and pretty much kept Southeast's defense off balanced from that point. The thing about heavy run teams like SE they are great front runners but if they find themselves in a hole it's hard to climb out of it with such grind it out offense the clock was pretty much HPC's friend in the 2nd half. The Bison outscored the Falcons 28-7 in the 2nd half and cruised to impressive victory on the road.

Next up a trip to Charlotte to catch up with our good friends at Catholic. Should be a heck of a contest.
