I'm bored and I miss football. I couldn't find anything online about it after a friend and I had a convo about this. Anybody else know anything?

I know Pisgah-Tuscola, Shelby-Crest, Richmond-Scotland usually draw 14K+ every year for those particular games. But those games aside, I'm just curious to know who draws the most home fans on average throughout the whole entire season. 1A-4A.

Northwest Guilford usually has a large home crowd and big student section.

Most leave after the halftime performances though.

No one East of 95 draws more than 3k a home game. Clinton stadium seats 3k and is rarely full because visiting teams, aside from a few we play travel so poorly. We avg around 1250-1500/game otherwise. There just aren’t stadiums down East like west teams and the communities are so divided it’s watered
down. There are 6 high schools within a 15-20 mile radius of Clinton. All in the same county.

I’ve been to so many schools having broadcasted for Clinton for 15years, here are my top schools down East in terms of Friday night crowd support, Clinton not included.

SW Onslow
Wallace
East Duplin
South Columbus
Whiteville

honorable mention:
NS-Jax

West Forsyth, East Forsyth and North Davidson all draw well.

I know this is a Tuscola game but overall I think for regular season home attendance Pisgah has to be near the top, they do support their Bears. Also, the Haywood Co folks travel very well for away games as I am sure other schools can attest when they play the Bears!!!

I think Havelock better attendance. Otis can verify it for me I'm sure.

To be horrible year after year after year I think Enka has always supported well.

How bad is traffic for that Pisgah v Tuscola game?

Can be pretty bad, so can getting a seat if you try to get there less than 1.5 hours before game time. I always planned to be there when the gates opened at 5:00 to get my seat on top and have a couple chicken sandwiches before game time. Always liked seeing the police escorts, full lights/sirens for the buses from Tuscola and line of cars packed with students arriving as well. Very entertaining night to say the least.

I'm from down East so the mistake I made for my first Tuscola/Pisgah game was to think I could get there 30 minutes before game time a find a spot for my wife and two kids. LOL, on the way from Waynesville I ran into traffic backed up about 2 miles form the turn at the light you take to go to the stadium, I naively hit the left lane and was passing everyone only to realize after seeing several Tuscola flags and kids packed into the back of F150's, they were all lined up to go to the game, thank goodness after I realized what I was doing someone was kind enough to let me in the right lane. Got to the stands and again, the folks were kind enough to let me, wife and two young boys squeeze in a seat together. Biggest game I had been to before that was Richmond/Scotland and to be honest the TvsP game is always a several levels above that in terms of community excitement. I understand everyone will think their rivalry is the best, but I doubt very seriously any really compare, especially with the $20,000 half/half pots they typically have.

I have pretty much been to the big rivalry games and the atmosphere at Pisgah v Tuscola is the best especially when played at Pisgah.
I'm completely biased but I definitely agree. I think this year will be one of the biggest crowds and most electric Pisgah-Tuscola games probably in the last 14 years. Pisgah will have their best team in a quite some time I believe and Tuscola is starting something new with a new coach and mindset in Waynesville. The game is played early in the season due to it being out of conference, so we invite all of y'all to Canton this year, if you've never been, or if you just wanna come again. It is worth the hype. I promise. Hell, the game ball is flew in to the 50 yard line by a helicopter to start the game. (Also, for a small fee, I can let y'all in on the secret back roads to avoid any traffic that night! Lol.)

Biggest game this side of 95 imo was JK and WRH. Very small stadiums but very tight to field and tons of people. The WRH and JK crowd can speak on this but when the games were at their biggest I’d bet over 5k would be at their games, but considering the size of the stadium and if at Wallace, they are all standing all over u on the field so it’s makes those 5k feel like10k hence my over emphasis on “tons”. There is Less than like 10ft from player to stands. The coach can whisper and you can hear it clearly. I’m not fan of either school but it’s hard to beat a big game at the dawg pound.

Coastal peeps... Found out today that I'm going on a business trip down to the eastern part of the state in October for 4 weeks. I don't know the exact dates for each stop yet or in what order, but looks like I will be in New Bern for one week, one week in Elizabeth City, one week in Fayettville, and one week in Wilmington. I'm not familiar with Eastern NC football all that much or what school is located where but I'm looking forward to going to watch a game every Friday night that I'm down there. So, hypotethically, let's say for each place I mentioned every team in that area is going to be at home that given week. What schools should I go see play in each town?

Depending on our opponent would love to have you visit Clinton during that time. Not far from Fayetteville.

Wilmington would be New Hanover vs Hoggard probably. NH has won a Ship a couple years ago and both teams have been pretty good recently.

Reidsville isn't bad, but the fan support can get spoiled at times
Reidsville does have a nice football stadium, it seems to me that the visitors side is farther away from the field than any other stadium I've been to, but it could possible be that I had drunk one to many adult beverages. I
like Reidsvilles, game announcer he does a good job. Ive met alot of good people on my 3 visits. I got to see 2 good football games out of 3.
The Rams have a first class football program..

I was preparing myself for the trip to Heritage just knew we were coming up that way.

Went to the Shelby Crest game couple of years ago.Not as big as Pisgah Tuscola but stadium was packed .Robbinsville ,Murphy and Swain Murphy also have a good crowd.
After this year Pisgah and Tuscola should be in same conference .Game will be played later in the year as it should be.
