Aerial assaultHibriten is a young team that has lost a few games they could or should have won. We're run option heavy. Defense has struggled at times.
What about EG?

They are very well balanced. They have two very good running backs that can break them at any time. You will need to outscore them.
You're right about the 2 backs. I've watched them on film a couple of times before Washington and after, and in person. You watch the game expecting to focus on #2 and you also get drawn to watching #34.
#2 has size, the butt and thighs of a pro back, speed, hip turn, and burst - projectable to the next level in every way. Probably what Ricky Williams and Jonathan Stewart looked like physically and measuraby in high school. Has what... 40 D1 offers??? When he breaks one you won't be surprised.
And #34 is a really solid HS back that will kill you when you least expect it.
Once that running game is going, and a team loads the box, a WR will go uncovered for a TD.
P.S. in case you didn't catch it the first time... #34 will be the one that kills you.
Explain? If you have followed Hibriten football any their is a reason why I put aerial assault.
You got that right. Check out his final TD last night in the Gaston Gazette online.I know #34 well. Had the privilege of coaching him when he was much younger. He is a fine young man.... and I agree as well. He will be the one to hurt you. His motor never stops.

#34 could be a potential D2 fullback or a D3 RB. He's very good.
Just like all the other conference foes, passing teams hurt them, we can go back to 09, playoff lost to Tuscola if you want to start their. The 2013 team, Forestview in the playoffs, that was due to scheme than players. The corners didn't have a chance playing 8-10 yds off and the safety 15 yards back. They did beat Pisgah that year, a throwing team, the LB's had a sack party that game, that was a good group of LB's. Last year before the storm came in with Ashe, that was going to be a shootout, whoever had the ball last would win type of game in the making. Ashe QB was airing it out down the field. New DC but the problem still exist. Watagua killed them when Dobbins threw. EG has a high powered offense, I expect EG to put points up, Hibriten will have to force, have turnovers and out score EG and score TD's when they have the ball.Explain?
I saw East Rowan @ South Point last year. East Rowan had some success throwing, but SP finally started getting to the QB in the 2nd half. East may have gotten them, if they could have defended the SP option (most team's can't). We are pretty balanced on offense, run or pass. On first look our QB looks neither mobile or fast, but he is actually both. We have two very good RB's, who had been alternating but lately both are in the back field at the same time which makes it hard to key on one back and on top of that you have to defend the pass too. Most of our receivers are tall slim guys with good speed, but our best receiver is a kid (#5) who is probably 5'9 150. He is very fast and has uncanny ability to make people miss in the open field. Our defense is what gives me headaches!Just like all the other conference foes, passing teams hurt them, we can go back to 09, playoff lost to Tuscola if you want to start their. My example of other conference foes: #1 example 2014 1st round playoffs: East Rowan 50- Freedom 49. Freedom's RB runs for over 400 yds and scores 6 TD's. # 1 seed loses to # 15. East's passing attack lights up talented Freedom's defense. Top seed 1st round games, are not suppose to be a fight for your life type of game!

Pulling for our in conference Panthers, but just don't see them winning
this game. I think they will struggle matching up offensively. When Freedom
played them they looked like they had a plan defensively, but due to
lack of offense the defense wore down. EG doesn't have the defense
that Freedom has so Hibriten will probably put some points on the board.
Good luck to both!
Good Luck to the Panthers.EG looks pretty good 34 is a ball player. I'll have to take this one in on the radio (sick kid) go panthers maybe we can pull the upset.
Congrats Beamer. Can't wait to see Hibriten back in their proper 2A classification.Hibriten actually played defense. 2 of EGs scores were on a fake punt and fake fg. Hibriten shut EG good running back down for the most part. I was suprised.
Thank you beamer24. No two people exist that have seen more EG games than egfan and I have combined. We certainly didn't play our 'A' game. Hibriten had something to do with it. Not feeling to chipper right now. Good luck to the Panthers the rest of the way.Hibriten 43 EG 28 final.
EG fan and Tarheel warrior yall are some faithful fans.
I would love to see that. I was on that team, but was a sophomore and didn't see the field that night!egfan, FYI, I have recently acquired the first half game film of the East Gaston/ Glen Alpine 1972 football game. I will share as soon as I recapture and edit the film.
