After a great showing tonight for Hayesville in a big win over bishop they get the reward of playing Winston Salem Prep guess that the way of the world in a no pod system. Would love to hear from any Bishop or East Surry fans who have now played both teams to give some insight and possibly what to look for.

They're REALLY good. Best team I saw this year by a long shot.

The only two knocks on them would be that they aren't a great perimeter shooting team and they lack depth at the forward spots. Outside of that, their guards are off the charts talented, they have seven players averaging at least 8 points per game and they are a nightmare defensively and on the glass.

The best way to give yourself a chance against them is to take care of the ball against their pressure and try to force them into a halfcourt game. If you can do that, execute on offense and not allow them to control the boards you'll be able to hang around.

Hayesville's a talented team and they'll give Prep some issues, but will need more than Thompson and Patten to contribute on offense.

I saw them tonight. Hayesville's guards will be under constant pressure. WS Prep guards are quick and are ball Hawks. Dave's comments were spot on.

The most frightening thing about them is that there's not one senior among them. They'll be even better next year.

I have saw preps girls play twice in the last week. They may be the most athletic 1a girls team that I have saw in years. Granted, I only see the teams that I see, but I haven't saw anything like them in a while. Very athletic. They are a lot like their boys. They don't shoot it real well but their defensive pressure can be relentless and they are very hard to guard.

Hayesville can play with them I imagine. I think the SMC has shown that they are every bit as good as the NWC this year, so if they don't get rattled by the pressure or the gym at WSP, anything can happen.

Well now that #20 has taken over the main ball handling responsibilities it has completely remade this already potent team. She has ball handling skills and strength on the ball that most guys would kill to have, so as long as they can find a way to get her the ball I doubt WSP pressure will really hurt Hayesville. I know most teams think they will be able to cause trouble but never in alll my years of watching basketball have I watched a girl or guy at the highschool level be able to just dribble right through pressure like she can. As for the comments that it will take more than Patton and Thompson to beat WSP your completely right. Yet not on the scoring end both girls show last night that they are capable of scoring in the mid to high 20s. Together they can get to 60 points which is enough to win a ball game, where it is going to take the team is defense and rebounding. Last night they played great team defense which allowed them the ability to be patient and for all but one player stay out of foul trouble. WSP does not have a couple 20 point scorers regularly but rather a bunch of girls who average around 8-11 which means any one player can have a big night or all of them can get there average, which means for Hayesville to win they need it to be a team effort in defense and rebounding.
