I said the Vikings needed 4 quarters. They obviously don’t have it at this point of the season. Not against a team that doesn’t have to play both ways most of the time.
Looks like the 3 in 3A vs 1A is showing up. Guarantee you the game plan was to wear y'all down in order to win. Hurry up offense plus bigger numbers? That's gamesmanship, not Xs and Os.

Proud of the guys for not giving up and they kept on fighting. Shouldn't feel to bad about losing to a team that could go all the way in 3a this year.
Exactly what I thought may happen. Hard for anyone to go both ways for the entire game, let alone majority. It shows the difference between 1A vs 3A state champs/contenders.
Mt Airy fans were pulling for the Vikings to do the job and win. Especially me. Such a great school, program and outstanding group of players, coaches and fans. I have no doubt that you will move forward and have a great rest of the season.

Absolutely! They have a few d1 guys, and we’ve got six guys going both ways the whole game, they just wore us out. If we capitalize on their turnovers and not turn the ball over ourselves in that third qtr and it’s a different game

Agreed. I would take seeing them have to battle against a good team like havelock in the non-conference instead of blowing out a cupcake any day of the week.

I'm laughing at all these people who are making fun of Tarboro for losing tonight. Especially the people from Rocky Mount. Ain't scored on Tarboro in 2 years but y'all want to talk 42-0 30-0 nuff said 🤣.
You should be proud, win or lose, you played someone with a pulse.
That only helps in the long run
This is a great result. I know we lost and the streak is broken, but we played head to head with them for 3 quarters. At that point, Havelock's depth took over. I am proud of the Vikings. They showed they are the best 1A team east of I-95, and maybe the entire State. I believe the rest of the season will be ours and we will make it to the State championship game...not saying we are winning that game, just that we will be there.
Nothing wrong with that effort. Way to battle tough Vikings!
Great post! I would even argue we were a little better than them for 2qtrs. The downside is that 3qtr they were a lot better than us. Again, I’m proud of those young men. They gave it their all
The quarterback from Havelock was nervous the 1st quarter; after he gather his composure you can see that this kid got a cannon for an arm. They will have some close playoff games with Southern and Northern Nash, but should get by them; when they get to 71st that could be a different story.
Tarboro I take my hat off to you, many great 1A and 2A school. Would never took a challenge this big at your house due to the gamble of knowing this could blemish their perfect record.

i dont think southern nash will give us any problems because they barely throw the ball if someone doesnt throw the ball consistently havelock will more than likely beat them u have to have the threat of passing to open up the run against them thats why new bern came back u may get 1-2 drives of good just running but eventually they will just stack the box and dare u to throw and if u cant you are in trouble
If you can load the box on Southern offense has always been their downfall for deep playoff runs.
This year Northern team is not last year or the team that made it to state chip, but it Northern so, I learned always except them to over achieve versus under achieve.
I saw Southern Nash vs Sothern Alamance so not to worried about Alamance stopping Havelock.
Only team that I see that will Havelock a true test will be in the Eastern Regional Finals vs 71st.

yeah NN capefear jacksonville havelock and 71st i feel like any of these teams can make states my top picks is capefear havelock 71st jacksonville i feel like it will come down to these 4
Rocky Mount folks should be the last ones laughing at Tarboro for losing. The Vikings have owned RM for a good while now and the games haven't really been that close. Congrats to Tarboro and Havelock for making this game happen. This will only make Tarboro a better team come playoff time. Havelock is a 3A power and their depth and numbers were just too much for the Vikings. No shame in losing to such a good team with more horses and more depth to pull from.
It was other schools around here whose fanbases found it funny the Vikings lost. Let's just say Havelock would have beat them WORSE than they did Tarboro. And Tarboro got a winning record over the teams whose fans were talking. Is what it is Tarboro will get better from a game like this.
Have rocky mount even won a game this year yet you know what I think they beat a Edenton team that's on a down year then lose 7 to 27 to Northeastern
I can't think of anybody from SWE that's been talking. We were rooting for y'all. Thought you had them. I personally feel like the ONLY reason it got out of hand was because of numbers. And while it's true that smaller schools beat larger schools all the time, most other schools don't have people capable of starting for their teams coming off the bench like Havelock.
It was honestly Rocky Mount, Northern Nash, and Southern Nash fans tbh. I saw a few swe fans on FB laughing but it was very few. The Vikings will get better from a game like this. those players will get more experience from a test like Havelock than beating a team in a running clock. I personally don't see any school in the twin counties of edgecombe and nash county beating Havelock.
