Lincolnton 27 North Gaston 20 - 3rd qtr
Forestview 14 Kings Mtn 0 - 3rd qtr

Looks like the outcome of both games is now decided...
Forestview 21 KM 0 - 4th
Lincolnton 40 North Gaston 20 - 4th

Total domination by Forestview....KM just over 100 yards total offense and 5 fumbles

What! Wait a minute... KM is in Cleveland County...??? Oh, Oh, Oh, they really want to be in Gaston County but just quite aren't there... KM faced a team that didn't back down and they crapped their pants and puked their shirts. Same old Mounties.

I guess that means Crest gets the SMAC 3A seed. Wonder what the numbers will say come the end of the year....

FV winning didn't shock me as much as KM being shutout did. Yes Burns is 3-0 but again, not the best competition yet. But I am proud of the outcomes so far.

I'm still not exactly sure what I just saw. That wasn't the same KM team I been reading about.

Km had 2 impressive blowouts against very weak teams, tonight was their first test against an average to above average team and sh!t the bed. Good win FV and KM will still be answering the yearly question about playing w the big boys. CC isnt down btw, we have dominated Gaston Co thus far so guess that makes them way down?

Forestview still has some work to do offensively, but this defense has been great so far this year and they got some young guys too that can really hit.

Only thing Gaston County dominates Cleveland County in is number of idiots on NC Preps, number Wal-Mart greeters per family, and number of Ric Flair t-shirts worn on Friday nights.

The shutout of KM by FV wasn't the story as much as how it was done. FV sputtered and looked terrible trying to play offense out of the spread. They were incapable of passing or running with any efficiency. KM had control of the game in the first quarter but couldn't convert in the red zone.

FV then completely threw away the spread in favor of the power I and ran it up the middle with D tackle Nate Whitaker at fullback and alternating their two halfbacks. There was no semblance of balance as in the past with the FV offense. Usually starting from the spread on 1st down, then moving to the I for short yardage and goal line. They just kept running it out of the I and eventually scored in what was a scoreless game for a while.

They continued with the I for several series before scoring out of it again. KM continued to move the ball against the FV defense but couldn't convert and had too many turnovers. By this time, KM knew what FV was going to do on offense but couldn't stop the power running game. By the third score, KM was either gassed on defense or they were demoralized and giving up. FV was killing them and what had been a scoreless, and then a tight 7-0 game was becoming a blowout.

When FV got the ball for their last scoring drive, it was clear that they were going to run the ball down the field for another score and there was nothing KM would be able to do to stop them. They were that dominant over KM by the 4th quarter.

The field was soaked. If one thing don't work move to something else. Most of KM yards came on that first drive alone.

KM got dominated! Oh well, tough luck. Better luck next time. I still believe they can upset the power ponies this year unless they finally figure out how much talent they got. Congrats to the jags. I believe they can give SP a game.

Shock score of this young season so far but anyone who is a HS football fan knows they just had an off night . The loss of a kid like merchant is glaring against strong comp but im sure they will rebound

Off night? Maybe the KM offense being off track in the passing game and the failure early in the redzone. But, KM handled FV early and FV couldn't run or pass out of their base spread. After they went back and forth for a few series, the score was 0-0, but KM was the team with momentum.

So, FV went totally one dimensional and ran up the gut with the power I. It was never a run/throw/misdirection scheme from that point on. It was just run up the middle against a stacked box and FV won when KM knew what was coming.

I watched the first two KM games and the first two FV games and there was no reason to think that KM wouldn't win. And I don't think this win puts FV into some upper level of 3A, or even their conference for that matter.

This was more of an uh oh/oh crap gamechanger for KM and an eye opener for any of their future opponents.

Km is highly ranked and has been talked about since last season as the team to beat.......so FV is a team to watch imo.

Forestview vs Kings Mountain is going to deliver hard hits and a physical game and Friday night was just that. The KM qb had recievers open but they had alot of drops, could of been a mixture of wet ball or wet gloves who knows. Other times he was WAY off target (again wet ball bad footing on routes who knows ) and that's not normal. 28-0 is nowhere near as close as the game was. I see KM losing only one more ball game against Shebly.

Forsetview plays East Lincoln next. This should tell more about Forestview and what the loss by Kings Mountain means. The game has been competitive over the years with Chazz Surratt at the helm. The new kid Graham is a sophomore but is another good athlete. They keep coming at that position as Byus puts them in a position to be successful. Does Kings Mountain beat Crest? I doubt it. Defensively they have more than enough kids to keep them in the hunt. Just not enough for the night Shelby makes them their prison bitch.

East had to come from behind to beat Huss. Stomped a bad North Lincoln team and played Christ The King a first year school. How tested are they really.

Not much but Mike Byus is still one of the best coaches in the state. The Jags will have to stop Graham and Cameron Dollar. They have another good receiver as well.

Huss defense is so much better than people think. They have lost 3 games by 9 points. They will be tough thought the conference.

I saw Hunter Huss play Porter Ridge this past Saturday. If that quarterback gets his feet under him, that will be one dangerous team.
