That’s funny. I’m sure there’s no bias involved in this poll.
Well I come from the same area and I wouldn't have Robbinsville ranked above Tarboro in any poll. I like MT Airy for the fact they are the defending champs and Tarboro was runner-ups. However, Tarboro is Tarboro and no way I would put any other team above them besides the team that beat them. Eastern Randolph I feel is to high as well considering they got beat pretty handily by Eastern Alamance and barely got by a 1-1 Asheboro team who's only other win came against an 0-2 Albermarle team. Below is the way I see things shaping out after week 2:
1. Mt Airy (They are the champs until someone knocks them off)
2. Tarboro (No explanation needed)
3. Robbinsville (Just with all they have that returned back)
4. Swain (They arguably have one of the best defenses in 1A this year and if Swain continues to mix in the Veer, watch out)
5. Andrews (This is a surprise pick for me.. I really thought they would fall off alot with the talent they lost but they have one of the best lines in 1A and its showing each week. We will know in a couple of weeks against Mitchell if they are the real deal again this year or not)
6. Mitchell (Seems they are playing a little better this year to start the season off)
7. Eastern Randolph (This may be to low but we will see in the next couple of weeks. They always have athlete's so I could be eating crow for this one later on.)
8. Mountain Heritage (They seem to have a pretty good defense and run game this year. We will know tonight)
9. Draughn (Still have good athlete's even though they lost a little bit. Tough test tonight against East Burke)
10. Thomasville (To early to tell how good they are this year but time will tell)
11. Murphy (Had a really strong showing against Franklin in week 1 but they are down. Arguably played the best team they will face this year in Commerce who had atheletes all over the field in Week 2 and got slaughtered. They are open tonight but have a couple tough opponents the next couple weeks so we will see how that plays out)
12. Hayesville (It's really hard to judge how this team is based off their first two opponents (Towns County & Madison who are a combined 0-4.. they have Georgia Force tonight who is 3-0 on the season and their toughest opponent to date)
