Only about 10 per side east and west. Lots of those schools are so spread out from one another to make leagues. SMC is about the best option to stay kind of close as a league. Not sure about all those down east schools. LIke S Davidson for example is only somewhat close to WS Prep, and College Prep in High Point (I think is joining the NCHSAA this coming season has football also). C Central is 45 minutes plus away and N Stokes over an hour easy. I assume the 1A schools will be combined into 1A/2A split leagues due to travel issues. Here is what I have came up with:
1. Hayesville
2.Northwest Halifax
3.East Columbus
4.Northside pinetown
5.north Edgecombe
6.south davidson
7. Thomas Jefferson Classical
8.KIPP Pride
9. Jones
10. Chatham Central
11.Robbinsville
12. Washington County
13. North Stokes
14.Sallie B Howard School
15. Southeast Halifax
16. Clover Garden
17. Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy
18. Weldon
19. Rosman
20. Bear Grass charter
21. Rocky mount prep
22. Andrews
23 Wilson Prep
24. Winston Salem Prep
The NCHSAA will have to do something. Maybe a 1A/2A title?why would anybody want this?
I hope they play a limited 1a championship and have 1a/2a conference. being 200 is very restrictive to play a 500 plus for a title. The NCHSAA will have to do something. Maybe a 1A/2A title?
