The 2015 season is finally here, as most teams tee it up this week in what each hopes will be a season ending in mid-December in Winston-Salem, Raleigh or Chapel Hill with the State Championship held high. The last time a team from Forsyth County won a football title was in 2002 when Carver took home the 3A title. So without further delay, here they are, the first week of picks for games involving teams from Forsyth County.

Here's the standard disclaimer... None of my picks are meant to slander any particular school, coach, player, etc. Enjoy the picks, and feel free to chime in with your picks. Don't forget... I have never picked and will never pick against my own team.

Christ School at Atkins
Atkins hosts a Christ School team that will make the two hour trek from Asheville. I have no real handle on this one, so I'll take Atkins in a squeaker.

Atkins 23, Christ School 18

Bishop McGuinness at Community School of Davidson
I'm giving the edge to the Villains.

Bishop McGuinness 20, CS Davidson, 14

East Forsyth at Mt. Tabor
A heavyweight slugfest in week one. This one should be played in mid-November, not in late August.

East Forsyth 35, Mt. Tabor 28

Glenn at North Forsyth
The Bobcats make the trip to the Northside to take on the Vikings at Nifong-Crafford Stadium. Sadly, it will be the first NF game that legendary coach Gene Bowles will not be a part of. I see the Vikings taking the big W in memory of Coach Bowles.

North Forsyth 30, Glenn 21

Northeast Guilford at Parkland
The Mustangs are stuck in the middle of the most unproductive span in program history, as they have lost 22 straight games. The last Parkland win came on Oct. 26, 2012, 21-19 over Southwest Guilford.

Northeast Guilford 28, Parkland 14

R.J. Reynolds at Southwest Guilford
The Demons have sturuggled mightily over the past two seasons, but I see them taking a close one in week one.

R.J. Reynolds 24, Southwest Guilford 17

Reagan at South Iredell
The Raiders make the trip to the north shore of Lake Norman to take on the Vikings. Reagan has a high-octane offense, but can they replace their stud QB, which made the Raider scoring machine go?

Reagan 35, South Iredell 24

Walkertown at Rockingham County
The Wolfpack open the 2014 season with a convincing win.

Walkertown 42, Rockingham County 21

West Forsyth at A.C. Reynolds
Another game involving traditional powers. This should be a dandy.

West Forsyth 28, A.C. Reynolds 27

Dudley at Carver
My apologies for omitting this game in my initial post. This game has always meant a lot to both schools, as they both have proud traditions, but Dudley looks to be too powerful for Carver.

Dudley 33, Carver 21

Winston-Salem Prep - Open

Christ School.

C school went 7-4 last year and return some boys. Atkins will keep it close but if C school shows up and out hits Atkins they should take off. Glad to see Atkins find an opener after FCD folded it's season;

Comm School of Davidson

CSD brings back several quality players from last season who did things for them in the playoffs. Bishop is rather young and has a lot of new starters plus their big QB's gone. See it being a shootout but as long as Comm school isn't too badly banged up I see them taking off with it.

E Forsyth

N Forsyth

RJ Reynolds

Reynolds looked much improved over last year in not just talent but coaching. They were a completely different team when we scrimmaged them on the 11th. They got a-ways to go to be good but they were much better. I see them pulling it off here, they need a boast and this will be it. They need to beat someone else other than Parkland every year.

Reagan

In potentially a close one.

Walkertown

This year Walkertown has no cupcakes on their non-con schedule. That is a major plus for a program hopping to become legit. They open with Rockingham County, a school who has seen better days but has a new coach ala Walkertown. I think Walkertown will pull this one out but it may be tough pickins in the next few weeks.

West Forsyth

Dudley

This game historically has been Carver's benchmark the last few years. They show up and play Dudley in line to how good they are. Last year Dudley at them up and they had it rough until conference play. This year's game will be interesting due to it being Dudley's first game since before the scandal hit last year. They are ready to hit someone. Carver needs to be ready. GOW material here.

North Forsyth (Gene and Homer both will be shining down on NF tonight)
NE Guilford

West Forsyth

Atkins, even if they are improved, will get crushed by Christ School. I think Community School of Davidson is supposed to be very good and will beat McGuinness pretty easily but stranger things have happened.

Not that 7 on 7's mean that much, but NE Guilford went to a 7 on 7 with a bunch of 1A schools and got beaten by all of them including Bishop McGuinness. I think NE Guilford is in pretty rough shape so even a loss to Parkland is not a surprise.

Christ School 48, Atkins 6
Comm. Sch. Davidson 42, McGuinness 7

Dudley 42, Carver 7

East Forsyth 42, Mount Tabor 7

Glenn 40, North Forsyth 0

N. Davidson 24, HP Central 14

Parkland 29, NE Guilford 7

Reagan 41, South Iredell 29

Reynolds 21, SW Guilford 20

Walkertown 29, Rockingham 26

Asheville Reynolds 31, W. Forsyth 28
