Volleyball First round scores, post them here

Dang, I was hoping that East Surry would win!!

That score says all you need to know about the Northwest vs. most other 1A leagues in the state. East got routinely drilled in the league by the top 4 but led that game a couple of times in the 4th against a team that nearly ran the table this year in regular season.

I am not even sure ES has a senior on the team.

Swain beating albemarle says a lot too .. Andrews beat Lincoln charter also

What a shame that 2 will be out after Thursday.

Rosman stuns Robbinsville 58-48 on the road ....Lady Tigers pulled-off a similar playoff upset 2 years ago at East Wilkes(64-53), so Congrats to Coach Hughes and the Lady Tigers, and good luck in the 2nd round against Cherokee.....

May not be as big an upset as you may think, Robbinsville lost to last place Murphy to open the SMC Tourney. It is very unusual for a Lady Knight team to stumble like this at playoff time.

Looks like Robbinsville's basketball program is in decline, sad to see. As mentioned above, the girls team lost in the first round of the SMC tourny to Murphy and now in the first round of the playoffs. I see the boys team traveled all the way out to Winston-Salem to get absolutely crushed. You would have thought at least a couple of athletes off of that football team could play a little basketball. Anyways hope to see them get back to being competitive sooner than later!

Heard the girls were fighting amongst themselves and the boys have talent just getting use to a diff coach I guess. Rough year for robbinsville bball for sure. Good job Smc teams that won . Hoping for a Hayesville cherokee rematch in round 4

Swain beating albemarle says a lot too .. Andrews beat Lincoln charter also

Lol no it doesn't lol. Albemarle lost 7 players from last years team. 3 freshmen got a lot of minutes all season 1 started. Swain played a great game but Albemarle didn't play well and their youth showed.

Tough loss for swain tonight and they did a great job the other night. Hats off to them. I really like that #30 for swain!! With some development she will be a huge player moving forward. Definitely has the intangibles to be a special special player.

But that game didn't say anything. Alb is young and inexperienced. They will be better next year but probably 2yrs from making another run. They have a great core of young players 2 of which were out sick. It was a great learning experience for the young kids who have a lot of potential.

Good luck to all teams and safe travels. I love this time of year!!!

SD is a very disciplined team with a lot of experience. I'm not surprised they are playing well this year. I haven't seen Cherokee or SD play this year but I think it could be a good game but not sure either.

We will be good in two more yrs. But in 4 or 5 yrs we will have the best team to come through rville in many yrs. Just ask any folks from local schools. They know what s coming. Come see this Sat. At rville. Hayesville boys has a great team coming up in 4 or 5 yrs. These two teams will own the SMC for 3+ yrs.
Boys bball will never be all that.

Are you talking about 5-6th graders? Rville girls lost a lot as well didn't they?

Yeah he talking about 5th graders lol . This was brought up on another post .. Ole bk if he can't brag about the high school he will find some team from the youth programs to talk about. Got to love him

Lol I seen a 7yr old balling yesterday LOL jk. I am interested to see what happens with Prep after this year. They lose 6 of 8 right?

Rville varsity will be down a little over the next two yrs. And yes I'm talking bout mites. Hville boys are much better than the current hville varsity. Snow bird girls are good also. Hville,HD,Murphy, Cooper basin are all amazed with the his team. Four time Champs about 59wins in a row.

And some of the starters were really termites. Bestballhandler in the area.
