Who told you that Farmville was great and mighty? Their legendary coach, Dixon Sauls, retired a couple of years ago, and ever since then, then have been just average. During the Sauls days, you probably didn't want to face FC, and they had a recent-ish championship game appearance, but now, though not bad at all, they don't warrant top teir accolades. They had a really good season last year, 11 wins, third round, but many of those wins come from a low level non conference schedule, shown by a third place finish in conference. And this year, they had to win their last game just to secure a playoff spot. During a 7 game stretch this season, they scored a mere 67 points while giving up 180. 7 games....67 points. Less than 10 per game. They finally broke out of that slump by defeating North Pitt 48-7 in the final game. NP is 2-9, so...... We are the team that plays them in the first round this year, Wins85. And with all that I just said about FC, they very well could have and probably should have won their game against us earlier this year. We won 35-20, but we were losing 7-20 at the half. We couldn't stop their running back, who had 208 yards AT HALFTIME!! Thankfully, we took over the game in the second half. The back finished with 248, but if we let him slice us like he did for two quarters, we might not like the final score. I'm sure that they are studying that film hard. It would be a perfect example of what to do and what not to do. But all and all, Farmville Central is going thru a down cycle, by their standards.
