Winner take all game to end the season, senior night for the stallions! Who you guys got?

Biggest game of the year yet. Three Rivers title and playoff seeding on the line here. Fairmont is a talented team with a good QB and a very good WR but I think Coach Johnson's has our defense prepared. I like the Stallions in this one 38-34.

I worry about Souths ability to defend the pass... we shall see how it goes

Me too core, we did good against Red Springs but we gave Whiteville way too much and had trouble on a few deep passes. If we don't blitz Friday night it's gonna be a long game.

We got zero pressure on the whiteville QB and if we do that again Friday night it will be ugly.... I haven't seen Fairmont but just going by what I hear ... they might be the favorite in this one .... stallions is gonna have to find a pass rush

Having played both teams here is my take. South will not stop Fairmonts passing game for the most part. Fairmont will not stop Souths running game especially Buffkin. The best way to loosen up the run defense is the pass to the tight end #81. South had better keep the running back covered as he is Caulders safety valve when scrambling. My prediction 28-27 South.

Huntman98 said it all. Better get ready for a long game also. Fairmont does have a problem with discipline sometimes. Their defense gave runs up middle often with us.
Clock will stop a lot with that passing game.

Hope SC offense can run on Fairmont defense with no problems. Need to control the clock and keep the Fairmont offense off the field and we should take this one

Keeping our defense off the field and fresh will be the difference in this game, if we can do that I say south 42-35.

I think in high school the running game consistently is more consistent and less turnover prone, so I give the edge to South Columbus. From what I saw Caulder is much less likely to be affected by blitzing OR just rushing 3 and covering with 8 than past seasons. If he continues to be satisfied with taking what the defense gives him and not forcing throws AND his receivers make the catches it will be a long night for the Stallion defense. The Stallions running game, with some timely Spencer throws sprinkled in does not have as many IFs. It should be an outstanding game between two teams that play extremely different styles of football. Last team to score wins?

This will be a special game
Both of them want it but only one can have it.
I recommend the winner to celebrate and prepare the next chapter

South Columbus being the Denominator
Fairmont High being the Numerator

Best wishes to both

Should be a good one. Fairmont will by far be the best team SC has faced in the conference. Pass vs run. Who's defense will make big plays?

Making Caulder step up in the pocket and sealing the gaps are key in this one on defense. Make him throw in the pocket under duress...don't let him get outside the pocket and see the field crystal clear. It's gonna be tough on the stallions defense but I think we will create those 1 or two turnovers we need to give us a close victory.

South Columbus played a solid game against Whiteville for the most part on offense and defense. That is always an emotional game for both teams. There have been a couple years that the Stallions just couldn't seem to muster that same emotion the next week to start the playoffs, that does happen sometimes. But it cannot happen this week as this will be a playoff type atmosphere and a conference championship at stake. Interesting to see if South makes many defensive changes, Fairmont is just very good at throwing the ball and the Stallions don't see it that often. Should be one heck of a game. Go Stallions!!

Dirty Stallion makes a good point that often we overlook. Unlike Alabama, where Nick Saban brings in former players with similar skill sets to work against his defense, high schools are limited to who they have. You have to give Fairmont some advantage because of the difficulty of taking your people and recreating Monday-Thursday what Caulder, Moore and Co. are capable of on Friday. Before you say it, I know that Fairmont hasn't seen the skill set that South brings with their offense, but at least they have seen something similar in game situations. Running attack usually more reliable in cooler weather, but with the gloves and such players have these days don't know how big a factor that may be.

It's gameday fellas! Ready to see which deference steps up big and maybe forces a turnover or two to give their team the win and the Three Rivers crown

Gonna be perfect football weather in the low 50s. Really hoping for a good game from both teams but hoping SC comes away with the W. A win tonight will be very big for the playoff seeding. Let's go SC!

Wow, what a game by the Stallions. Best wishes to a good Fairmont team going forward. #40 Buffkin a big factor again on both sides along with #8 Legget on offense. Also very impressed with our Corners #4 Ivey and #21 Bellamy holding Moore like they did. Hoping we can make a run deep into the playoffs.

South definitely didn't come out flat last night, Stallions played fired up, hard, smart and determined. Could not ask for a better crowd than last night and the players fed off of it. Fairmont's offense is no joke, we are so worried about their passing game and the last two scores came from long runs. Really exciting game, especially for the championship. Just gotta say though, as good as the players played, it's pretty obvious they had been well prepared during this week of practice. Seemed that everywhere the Tornadoes turned there was a bunch of Stallions in their face, that comes from good coaching as well as players. I am sure there was a lot of watching film this past week for the coaches and it paid off. Coach Dove has really helped South Columbus get that mojo back, and he has a great bunch of coaches helping him. So blessed to have coaches that played for South out there helping to keep that tradition alive, we all know you guys are out there everyday. Thank you and go Stallions!!
