Eastern & Western 1AA Finals > { Who Wins ? }

Who Meets At BB&T In Winston Dec. 11th 2015

Eastern 1AA Finals

No.3 James Kenan @ No.1 WRH

Western 1AA Finals
No.10 Walkertown @ No.4 Mitchell

Whoever wins the Duplin County Super Bowl wins State......said it at the beginning of the year Wallace Rose-Hill and James Kenan just on another level

Thats what they preached a few years ago when Murphy played WRH for a state championship. No way did anyone down east think Murphy could stay on the field with WRH. That game went down to the wire. The winner of Mitchell/Walkertown shouldn't be brushed aside so easily.

If my Wildcats weren't playing this week I would love to be in Duplin County to see this battle. Less than 20 miles separates these two fine programs and the Rose Hill Restaurant should be packed Friday night for the pregame fan meal.

James Kenan surprised a lot of people in the way they handled WRH earlier this year 33 -15. My contacts tell me that WRH has been playing a ton of sophomores on defense. They have had a chance to mature and I am not sure the Tigers of James Kenan will score 33 as they did in their first match-up.

How will WRH solve the defense of James Kenan that bottled up the Dogs running attack, limiting them to 65 yards in the first match up. You gotta believe Coach Price will adjust to what the Tigers did on D in the first game and Coach Avent may have some more tricks up his sleeve as well.

In a close game the kicker for WRH may be the difference but I don't think a field goal decides this one.

The Dogs seem to be rolling at the right time. My early prediction, for what it's worth: WRH by 9.

No matter who wins this one, I will be pulling for them in the state title game.

Certainly possible I love Football 15. This is a big time match up as you know. I just think WRH is rolling right now and JK's win was in the second week of the season. I could be wrong and I often am.

I went to that jk- tarboro game last night. That d is still the same. IMO I don't they had a 100 yards total. The scored they had came on short field and the was up 14-0 in the first and 14-7 at half

WRH/JK always come down to coaching and who wants it more...I think Coach Price wins the battle of coaching this time....Anyone who come out of the west is good and only the people on these boards create the bias....ANY Team at this point is a very good Team....

WRH may be the best team in the state in all classifications. Heck, maybe even in the nation. I thought when I watched the first game that JK dominated it totally, but I now understand that WRH was just young and Inexoerienced and that they have improved more than anyone else possibly could. I just hope my Tigers can stay within 3 or 4 touchdowns of the mighty Bulldogs.

IMO jk wins. I say that because nobody hits wallace like jk. Number 8 and 4 ain't Tryna get hurt and mess up the chances of going to ecu.

It's seem like everybody scare of wallace. Jk prepare for them like the do everybody else. When jk beat wallace. I guess they gonna say they lost cause defense was young

I will say that if #8 plays on the defensive side of the ball, it's a 95% chance WRH wins.... That's the game changer and Ace WRH brings to this next game.....JJ takes that Defense to another level... JK fans are hoping that he does not play defense

Whether 8 plays defense or not wont matter. Wallace has just improved way more than anyone else. I love JK but I just hope they can keep it close for the fans.

10fishlimit, I cant say that WRH improved that much...I know that they play at a higher level when JJ is on defense....I think that both teams have probably improved at the same level, fine tuning their defenses and offenses. Jk has an awesome coach and I like his approach on offense and keeping the opposing defense honest by mixing up his plays with the running and passing game...With WRH, you know what we are going to do mostly-but coach Price has been mixing it up lately and I am happy for that...I think WRH has a greater shot at beating JK when we mix it up...I still would not trade coach Price-Im not stupid....

If WRH has improved as much as everyone says they will destroy JK Friday night. I am sure the coaching staff will do all they can but even though JK DOMIATED the first game, they surely haven't improved at the same rate as the Bulldogs... Here's hoping they can keep it close.

WRH/JK will be a heck of a game. Walkertown is hitting on all cylinders. It's a shame that the 1AA will be won by a 2A/2AA school again. Not one single classification is penalized more than 1AA. Playoffs should be determined at the end of the season by enrollment of THAT season. If they are going to include every team but 8-10 in each classification is it that hard to do? Until the coaches band together against the autonomy that the NCHSAA money grubbers have get used to it. The kids work from August until the playoffs to have a shot only to be beaten by bigger schools. Conference Championships mean more than State sometimes due to the lay out that 1AA has to deal with.

@BDHarris, I assume your post is a complaint that Mitchell is playing a team with 250 or so more in enrollment. I would suggest the 4AA may be more penalized than 1AA as the difference between the largest 4AA and the smallest is nearly 1000 kids. Apologies if I missed the point of your post.

Just curious with 4AA to 4A being 1000 can you break that down into the difference in 3AA -3A , 2AA- 2A and 1AA -1A . Hard to figure how the NCHSAA makes thing work out the way they do.

The new 20-30-30-20 split in the 2017 realignment is supposed to help with the size disparity in 1A and 4-A. Right now, 2A and 3A have very narrow enrollment ranges.
Question, though: has there been any mention as to how realignment will affect the playoffs? I don't see how 1A and 4A could be split into A and AA and still have enough teams for 5 rounds.

There will be the same splits that currently exist.

I think WRH will win by a couple of touchdowns.

34-20 Dogs

And the hitting will be some of the best in the state.
