Wow what terrific planning by the people of Mebane......obviously not expecting to be at home this late in the year...Where will the band be?? And who would go to a boring parade when your team is playing in a state semi-final game................piss poor.....tell Santa to wait a day or a week........................

Well the parade has been the 1st Fri in December for 100 years or however long its been in existence. But I agree, who would want to go to the Christmas parade when we have a chance to go back to the state championship game. They should just move the parade to Sat night.

Go Eagles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard to tell a town that has been planning for the best part of a year and coordinating with 50-100 entities that everything is being postponed a day at the last minute short of a civil emergency.

I know it would be impossible to move at this late date....my point is...if you have a school that contends yearly for a title...common sense would dictate a little judgement in advance and plan a parade on a date and day when there would be little chance of a conflict.....serious question...where does the band go?? parade or game??.

I would think that the band had committed to the parade sometime back, they would have to honor that commitment. However, a contingent pep band could hold down the fort until half-time. Also, the band could request to be moved up in the line-up to allow them to finish the parade as quickly as possible and then have an activity bus or two at the end of the parade route to quickly transport them to the stadium. Not an optimal situation but workable.

The band will be at the game. They told the city that earlier if there was a game they would not be in the parade. Kudos to the Band!!!

Sounds like the E.A. team marched in the parade instead of on the football field.....very surprise they lost by such a big margin at home 42-21.

I hate it for EA really and was really surprised at the final score! Thought it would be closer! I've said it all year if you stop Lamot you stop EA. I wasn't at the game but it sounds like RM kept him in check. Good luck RM you finally got out of Alamance County with a win to go to the state championship lol!
