Not too bad against the run but struggle with pass. Rams by 17Any information on East Rutherford?
Looks like their safety has 11 ints for the year. Any receiver for the Rams have that many receptions?Looks like they played a tough schedule ... won finale 28-21 over Chase after losing 48-0 and 41-0 the previous two weeks to Crest and R-S Central.
Four of five wins were by seven points or less ... including 17-13, 21-20 and 16-14. Only blowout win was 57-25 in season opener over East Henderson, which finished 1-10.
Chestnut, on injured reserve, has 23 receptions, Noel Cook has 18, Christian Goins 11, Alec Abel 10, Isiah Hayes 10.Looks like their safety has 11 ints for the year. Any receiver for the Rams have that many receptions?
Should be an interesting matchup with the E. Rutherford safety and Reidsville's QB Tanner Wilson (JR) who is attracting lots of recruiting interest. Rams receivers have not distinguished themselves so far, but they lost their best WR (Soph Jalen Foster) early in the season and to date no one has stepped up as a go to guy. They're not very good. They do have a ball hawk at safety, so your quarterback has to be mindful of his reads and decision making. You guys shouldn't have any problem w/ them, however.
Wilson, Brandon Lee (Jr), and Willie Blackstock (Soph) were at the Carolina/Wake Forest game. Don't know if your Wolfpack is involved with Wilson yet.Mule...I saw where Wilson visited UNC...and had his pic taken in jersey UNC #18....this was posted on facebook by his great uncle....so I;m not sure if the visit was this past week or a couple of weeks back.....
Pretty good size for 9th graders:They have 2 mean freshman Starting On defense, #72 a NG and #13 MLB they do well at shutting down the run game

This Reidsville team has the least seniors contributing that I can remember, with only about 3 or 4 doing much heavy lifting. I suspect that Lincolnton will be the team that Shelby will see in the West 2A finals but I am impressed with the late season progress the Rams are making.
Cheerduck didn't Jug Wilson later coach at Freedom??...Reidsville played them once in playoffs in 1975 and I seem to recall that he was their coach...thanks for the info................the Wilson kid has a very strong arm....................
Freedom lost first game in playoff after going through undefeated season and beating Reidsville 27-0 in 1975. They got beat bad by East Forsyth 35-6. I was there to see it all. Freedom had a great year and they only allowed 36 points whole year including Reidsville game. I remember that the fans were shell shocked during East Forsyth game. Oddly, I was a kid then and many years later I saw East Forsyth winning State Title in 92' season. I knew a good number of kids on that team since I coached and umpire at K'ville Little League. ( Ray Farmer was one of the kid that went to Glenn not EF due to great baseball program during that time. Now he is a General Manager at Cleveland Browns)
Rambbq----Yes Jug Wilson was the coach and he was Freedom first HS football coach after a great career at Glen Alpine HS. He was a Hall of Famer for sure.
Wow, that's some heavy duty shoes to follow. I knew of Jug many years ago. A certified legend he most certainly is. Did not know of the relationship. Thanks for the info.Wilson's grandfather, James Wilson, was a great high school tackle for the legendary Ralph "Jug" Wilson at Glen Alpine High School in the early 60's. He would be so proud to watch this kid. Pull him through on his behalf.
Well, he was injured in the fourth qtr last week and couldn't finish the game. I guess the Shelby guys will let us know.Heard today that Shelbys quarterback may be out for playoffs with mcl knee injury ...any truth to that?
He's fine.Heard today that Shelbys quarterback may be out for playoffs with mcl knee injury ...any truth to that?
Glad to hear it. Would be terrible to be out now. He's fine.

If you can get us some details about Jug Wilson's career maybe we can get something going at the NCHSAA.
Thanks, Cheerduck. Long time no see.
My suggestion is to find some former players of Coach Wilson (especially if there are a few lawyers among the bunch)..and worry the hell out of the NCHSAA...that's the only way for older coaches to ever get recognition...it's been done before by many schools....someone or some bodies have to initiate it tho....have as many facts about him as possible to present..........FWIW he's got my vote................................
I'll see what I can find out.All of the official papers have been submitted, along with numerous newspaper articles, documents and pertinent information regarding his career coaching high school teams in N.C. Each year we have sent letters of recommendation as follow up for him.Last year, I found out he hadn't even been considered for a period of 3 years.I couldn't get an answer on that issue. Since I sent in his original nomination form in 2004,three members of the NCHSAA staff has been inducted into the HOF. I sometimes wonder why politics have be a part of everyday life.
I appreciate your offer and would cherish the fact you'd try to help push for his inclusion.
I'll see what I can find out.
