East Lincoln's Mike Byus retires

Absolutely, hands down, one of the best coaches in NC, EL had 11 winning seasons form 1967-2004, Coach Byus had 12 straight winning seasons, 7 conf championships, 3 regional championships, and 2 state championships. If he decides to continue coaching, someone is going to pick up a great one. Coach Byus thank you for everything, you will be missed by the green and orange. Hats off to you.

I could be wrong, but just don't see Beam leaving NC at this time, and his post on Facebook a few weeks ago may validate that. The next 4 to 5 years have the potential to be really good at NC, and Beam knows it.

He just put up another Facebook post stating that while he loves East Lincoln, he has an obligation to Newton-Conover. He will NOT be taking the East Lincoln job.
Don't you have to be offered the job to not accept it, just wondering, is he saying EL has offered him the job and he declines it
Just read on CM3's Instagram account...He will not be taking the East Lincoln football job. He loves East Lincoln, but he has an obligation to make sure Gallagher and Duck do the right thang.....lol CM3 is exactly right. You have to be offered the job before you decline it. I think it is Catawba county that gives out coaching jobs with out posting them....... See the past couple of season in football and basketball!!!! East Lincoln has some excellent assitant coaches on staff that should apply for the job. They know what works with these kids and have seen what it takes to win at the school. Most of the time the best decision is the one that just makes the most sense.
I never said he was offered it. He just had people ask him if he would take it. I know what you mean by having to be offered it to decline it.
Word on the street...CM3 will be the next Mustang coach. We will see how much the street knows! I give it a 67 percent chance at being right.

Give it a day or two and I will accept your congrats for calling this one. Now, the only question will be if CM3 ever comes back on here to play.

Sorry sir. My street contacts got the names mixed up. Dplubo is the chosen one. I apologize for the mixup. I was beginning to doubt my latest intelligence, but the speed with which he corrected my "mistake" makes me feel very solid with my corrected prognostication. I'm glad, because you are much more fun on here than he is...sorry DP...and congrats again!
