dirty, I have watched South Columbus over the years, but I'm not a Stallion fan, but a fan of the game. I live in Brunswick county and I try to travel on Friday nights to different games in the area (Brunswick, Columbus & New Hanover mostly ... I have gone outside the area depending on the match up ) so it's not like I see South Columbus every week. I was at Jamboree and was encouraged by the energy the team came out with, but that was about it as far the positives. A lot of Stallion fans are wanting to go back to the Wing T and think that is going to cure all the problems. I don't think that's the problem ... I have watched a lot of football over the years and have seen numerous schools change offenses. They have been successful in those transitions. I know it doesn't look like South Columbus football, but times change and coaches change. The coaches that have been there since the school has opened have some connection to Jack Holley (Wing T). Coach Hutch is outside the family and he brings in something new (Something he is comfortable with). The South faithful doesn't like change ... Not what you are use to. If you have the athletes to run the Wing T and are successful, then you have the athletes to run anything else. South goes back to the Wing T in middle of the season last year and goes on a winning streak. I think it was the soft spot in the schedule and the success is not due to changing the offense. The problem (I think) is the athletes are not there like to use to be. Is it a sign of things to come or is it a cycle? You guys can answer that (How is the JV and middle school program doing?). Is it coaching? I'm not smart enough to determine that. The energy was there Friday, but a couple losses to start the season and that will be gone. I know the answer is long, but there are a lot of problems at South that people are not use to. I never coached, but have watch quite a bit of football. These are my two cents for whatever it's worth. Good luck this year and continue to support the kids ... They need it.
