East Bladen at Whiteville

East Bladen rebounds with a 28-14 victory and it may not be that close. An 0-2 start for Whiteville will def have fans grumbling.
Fans are always going to grumble about something even if 2-0. Most fans know this is a young Whiteville team that may have some growing pains. Certainly Friday night could be one of them. Whiteville versus East Bladen is always hard to predict. Whiteville started 0-2 last season and it worked out OK.
They're a little down on athletes and young but have a good head coach. Offensive coach is not good at all but that's just my opinion. He was Souths HC for past two years. I wouldn't be surprised if they change
Offense mid season. That's the only way South could hang on and compete was to convert back. All respect for their HC though. If anyone can get the team going he can.
Fooled me,pack could be 0-4 going into conf. play as wing- t has said. But WC,EC,SR,St.Paul's will be wins for pack I think. Red Springs,Fairmont are improved this year anything could happen. Then u got SC.

Why would u hire a coach to run your offense that got fired for using the off. scheme where it never worked?
That is the same thing everyone at SC was Wondering but Not our problem anymore. Good luck to Whiteville though. Hope they win all the rest of the games this year except against SC
Offensive scheme is not the problem. When you fumble 3 or 4 times a game you are not going to win. They are rushing for 250 to 300 yards, but when the back fumbles 10 yards downfield it is a problem. The only pass play is the one we have seen for the last 5 years, QB backs up and throws it as far as he can hoping something good happens. No slants, or anything over the middle. Defense is giving up 30 plus ppg. too weak up the middle, bad angles on outside runs. Can not blame the Offensive Coach.
Ok I gotcha. He was horrendous for South all around but maybe he can help Whiteville. Hopefully so. Sounds like problems after the plays down field from what you were saying. I hope Whiteville can bounce back against West Bladen, I don't know much about them. I know Whiteville has West Brunswick and I will tell you they are a very tough team.
WB is as strong as WB. Very good backs that can cut,shift flat out run. They get to second level its gone. Terry Paige from Whiteville only other back I've seen shift like # 25 from WB. Good luck to pack. If your rushing for 300 yrd. game u should be winning. Sounds like Defense is little weak,but pack has a great Defense coach.

Isn't it about time to let Coach Hutchison move on in peace? His one sin at South was not winning enough. From what I know he did not abuse his players or make a spectacle of himself in public. I believe when he was hired it was understood what his offensive philosophy was and still is. He tried to implement what he knew best. A lot of teams would have gone 0-4 against the nonconference schedule South faced. I know him on a personal level and he is a genuinely good person, takes a while to get to know him, but that is simply his personality and it isn't a flaw. He, to my knowledge, never publicly blasted anyone during or after his time at South. He simply moved on and is applying his knowledge elsewhere. Time everyone else moved on as well.

Whiteville simply has lost 2 football games to teams that are going to win more games than just the Whiteville game. Coaching isn't the issue, execution of what the coaches want is. And sometimes the opposition has players whose talent and/or execution equal or exceed yours.
