E Bladen @ S Columbus

This game was a more exciting rivalry for years than the whiteville or loris game for the Stallions…

seem both teams have hit some bumps in the road as of late but I cannot wait for this one Friday night…

GO STALLIONS…

WRH just played them. EB is a solid team. Good RB’s. Doubt they’ll be able to stop SC from running. They just don’t have enough players to last a pounding. Good opener for SC.
Let’s hope so, dogs. I saw where the Bulldogs put it to the Eagles pretty good this past Friday. SC actually opened their season at West Bladen this past Friday also. I’m still worried about the defensive side for the Stallions, gotta find a way to slow down those big backs from East Bladen

Sorry dirty stallion, I meant congrats on your first week win. I don’t mean this bad but I think 41 for the eagles should be under concussion protocol. He stumbled and fell down twice after being down on the field for 5 minutes. The other back 23 is really good but shouldn’t be at rb and nose guard. He was wore slam out by halftime

I just misread your comment, my bad. That is tough on the kid to play nose guard and running back, especially in the first game when the kids still aren’t in full football shape. Hope the other back doesn’t have a concussion, sounds like they are thin enough as it is. Prayers for that player that he is ready to play on Friday and is totally healthy!

I hope SC gets back in form this year. Dove is a good coach. Lucky to have him. Anytime I see Russell he's more than willing to talk football from any team. Good luck Stallions! Talking to some E-Town people Eagles have 2 good backs. But thin in numbers. Always a good game.

Went to the JV game last night and the stallions fought back in the 2nd half really hard and even took the lead late in the fourth

but the Coach decides to pull his normal kick off team and put his starting defense on kick off after their last TD drive to take the lead…

and I hope that was a teaching moment for a young coach to take a moment away from the regular kick off team kids that’s went to practice all summer long and to weight lifting that deserved a chance to prove themselves…

he basically spit in their face and let them know they wasn’t good enough and he had no faith in them to make a play in a meaningless JV football game… I watched those kids get turned away from the huddle and you could see their obvious disappointment in their body language…

but karma wasn’t far behind cause on that very kick off East Bladen returned it for a TD that basically won them the game…

I hope the coach is man enough at practice Monday to tell his regular special team players he was wrong and he’s sorry… I don’t think he realizes the impact that probably had on them…

Welp, following that 35-14 loss to the Eagles, realistically how many games can you see the stallions winning the rest of the season? I really thought south would win this game. Unfortunately I believe Doves tenure at south may be nearing its end for better or worse, we may see some things happen this year we haven’t seen in many many years.

Overhyped team with mediocre talent. Is that Coach dove’s fault.

Overhyped? Take a lap around the area buddy and you’ll realize there’s NO hype around this team. It’s been stated in other post the drop off in attendance because of the product on the field. As for the talent, it may not have been what it was in previous years but South Columbus has never been the talent factory. They won with good coaching and hard work, as I’ve stated before I’m a Dove fan, really like the guy. But at what point do you say it’s time to give someone else a shot? 4,5,6 losing seasons? Let Wallace rose hill go 3-10 back to back years and see if the same coach is running the show.

I like Russell to but I can read tea leaves buddy. Once those big boosters get off the wagon it just matter of time. I think SC going through talent slag, but been 3 years now,I thought would pick back up. You are 1-1 for year alot can happen.

Like was stated before South Columbus has never been overwhelmed with talent …

You can probably name on one hand the “superstars” since the school was opened

after watching Thursday and Fridays night game it’s clear this coaching staff isn’t setting a winning culture at South Columbus …

Dove is a good guy but being a good guy doesn’t win football games … teams seem ill prepared… young team or not there’s zero improvement

Couldn’t believe your post when I read it in regards to the JV game. Bet the motivation is just boiling over from that group of guys that got yanked from the kickoff team. Another great example

Why yank them from kickoff team?
Simply because the coach didn’t believe in his players can be the only explanation….

When those players got turned away and the coaches yelled for the starting defense for kick off… you could clearly see the disappointment in the players that got turned away … when EB returned the kick for the go ahead TD I thought to myself that’s exactly what you get… I hated it for the players but is was a gutless move by the coaches … that’s a great way to kill the spirit of kids that work hard in practice in the summer too
