Rod Baxley of the Fayetteville Observer has reported that Douglas Byrd HS has hired Hoke County assistant Maurice Huey as their next head football coach. Huey is a very strong hire and very well known in the Fayetteville region. He's part of the Milton Butts coaching tree and has worked at Westover, E.E. Smith, and has been the head coach at East Columbus.
