Thank you for posting this info. I was just wondering the other day about this.

I figured that at least two of the schools would be above 1000 on day one.

Now, at least everyone will hush up about the “3A schools who are playing down”. No longer the case.

I don’t think so. Wallace Rose Hill has somewhere around 625 and they are 2A. It’ll just depend on what the NCHSAA decides to do with this next realignment.

All that is up in the air right now. First 10 day numbers will come out soon and my guess is THS will be around 630-640. NCHSAA has their ideas, but the NCDPI is promoting and asking for fairness in competition and wants like size schools in leagues. Based on like size, everyone but WD and THS are close enough in enrollment to stay together. We will see!

Wallace and James Kenan are the smallest schools in our conference, with East Duplin, Clinton, Midway and Goldsboro the largest, with around 900 students.

Honestly I think it would be best for tville to go 1A they just don't have the numbers anymore like they use to...I've always associated tville with being 2a though...I believe sooner or later it will happen...When TFI shut down,people started leaving mainly black and white families and Hispanics moved in...at one time Thomasville was a hot bed for great football players that was a given,one or two great players would leave,2 or more would rise up...it was like a who's who of HS football

It’s a Catch 22. Thomasville would probably be more competitive across the board in athletics in1A, but it would be unlikely that we would have many decent rivalries at the gate, and more travel.

The more talk about we have on here, the more I wish playoffs were split based on current adm.
