Cummings@Princeton

Cummings likes to throw it lots. They were one of the best programs in the state years ago. I expect they are still pretty good. They probably haven't seen anything like Princeton's offence though. I would expect a shootout with Princeton making a few stops to win.

Princeton's running game is usually enough and IMO will be in this matchup. Cummings probably hasnt seen anything that slightly resembles what the Bulldogs do and I think it will be very difficult for them to prepare for. Not sure they will be able to match the physical style Princeton plays.

I do think Princeton is much weaker on the defensive side and is vulnerable depending on the style their opponents play. Cummings has some playmakers and will be the best team Princeton has seen since ED. The conference they play in is not very good at all but then again neither is the one Cummings plays in.

Princeton wins this week by at least 20.

I personally think Cummings can win this game. The bit of passing ED showed in their game against Princeton kept ED in the game. So if Cummings can pass effectively, they’ll stay in this one.

If you’ve never seen a team with the mantra “4 yards and a cloud of dust”, you are about to when it comes to Princeton. They are the epitome of that saying and it’s difficult to stop with their size up front.

East Duplin was down 21-0 if my memory is correct and came back to lead the game up until the closing seconds. Princeton’s defense may have improved, but I doubt they will stop Cummings.

The way to beat Princeton is to value possessions and limit your own mistakes. They are going to score on 70% or more of their possessions in my opinion.

Princeton wears teams down with their big O line and its more like 8 yards and a cloud of dust. You are correct their main concern Friday night and if they go forward is their defense. They have the ability to score with anyone, they will have to manage a few stops and take advantage when they do without turning the ball over. Cummings looks strong and it should be an offensive shootout. I hope they move on and get a rematch with WRH but at this point anyone can beat anyone. Looking forward to Friday night!

For anyone who has been this year.......are the home side stands filling up this year at Princeton? I know they added what looks like several hundred additional seating options. The tight quarters on the visitor side are not ideal for big crowds, but I would assume the addition on the home side has helped some.

Thx

Cummings lost a nail-biter to 1A North Moore for the conference title. North Moore is 99% run oriented in a double wing offense with no receivers, so yes, Cummings has seen a ground game. Cummings will rely on their tailback for big yards, but they can and will chuck it long in the passing game. The key is to keep them one dimensional for four quarters. They can score a lot in a short time North Moore held the ball for the first 10 minutes of the first quarter, but Cummings scored 14 points in a minute and a half in that game. This should be a good matchup, but I see Cummings by 10.

there is hardly any visitor seating unless they added some, but if you are looking something good to eat check out McCalls bbq and seafood in goldsboro.

Princeton has lots of local support and does generally fill up the home side even with the additional seats. As mentioned the visitor side is smaller but usually not full. I'm amazed at how few fans the visitors usually have even during conference games.

Maybe has something to do with losing some traditional rivals when we bumped to 2-A. Also, from a conference foe perspective there has not been much hope for a competitive game. I remember back in the 1-A Carolina Conference days when the town would show up home and away for only NJ, Rosewood, maybe North Duplin. No chance any fans were making the drive to Ayden or Farmville to see that butt kicking, and when you only had 25 players on the team parents and grandparents sure were not filling the stands. So happy to see how far PHS has grown from where they were a generation ago.

Princeton will need to keep possession of the football and limit possessions

Princeton better be glad they got such a dominant offense cause that defense ain't it lol. If somebody comes along and slows them down just a hair then its probably over. Can't argue with "win is a win" though as long as you're advancing

I've said that all year. But I will say Cummings has a great QB and some tough backs. I was actually impressed with our pass defense adjustments. But I'll take it lol. Survive and advance

Yeah but no one has slowed them down in 2a. Scary game for WRH.
