CPC Predictions

What will the CPC be like this season? Any key transfers or coaching changes? My thoughts are:
1-West Forsyth
2-East Forsyth
3-Davie
4-Glenn
5-Reynolds
6-Reagan

West is loaded as a East and those two can flip flop. Glenn has to replace a ton and the QB was responsible for so much last season. Not sure about Reynolds or Reagan although Reagan better start winning or the hot seat could get warm in Pfafftown.

There is no reason for Reagan to be last in that conference. It’s not weak, compared to some other area conferences, but still should no be last. That program had momentum and for some reason it has just sputtered. No connection with the program, but what’s up? Coaching changes? Taking time off in spring and summer? I have no clue.
 
Just my basic predictions. Probably will be inaccurate. Just have heard very little development has taken place with JV team past few seasons, and eventually those players move to V.
 
Is West loaded? That team was supposed to be loaded last year. Thought they would have lost a lot.

Then again, they are the biggest school by far and will probably get their usual recruits... Er, transfers...

West is far from loaded this year. They will have a few good players at LB and in the defensive secondary. On offense their Oline will not be as good as last year but they are really good at RB. They have no QB at all and rumors are going around that they moving their Corner Mcmillian to QB. So basically on paper their passing game will be non existent.

East Forsyth will be the team to beat. They returned 7 or 8 starters on both sides of the ball including several D1 players. QB is a question mark but from what I'm hearing this new young kid will be the best they've had in several years.

Didn’t know that. West hasn’t had a solid QB in awhile the one piece missing from the puzzle in some good seasons on paper. What makes you put Glenn below RJR and Reagan? What does Davie have this season? Haven’t heard of much.

Flip flop East and West. I do believe Davie and Reynolds will battle for 3rd and 4th by default. Reagan is Reagan and Glenn lost 20 something seniors (do the math) last year.

If East solidifies the qb spot this could be the year. They look like the team that nearly unseated the Creek a couple years back at every position just about.

Should find out about ourselves some today. Was told East scrimmages Catholic today at Parkland at 6pm and Richmond Co. Friday at Wake Forest in the 3rd scrimmage.
 
East not scrimmaging Catholic now. Was looking forward to that one for the little time it lived.
 
They did go against Catholic tonight. They got in about 40 plays before the weather shut it down. I will say this that East Forsyth Defense is for real as well as that Catholic D. Both teams stayed pretty basic on offense not showing much as expected. Catholic is a machine and well discipline. East has athletes everywhere. Their 2 QBs made some really good reads and used their feet to extend plays. Btw, that is something East hasn't had since 2012. This maybe one of the biggest Catholic teams I've seen in awhile. Lots of tall athletes.

I looked down on the sideline and saw Coach Willert & Coach Beal (East DC) smiling ear to ear when that 1st defensive unit came off the field. It's very early and scrimmages mean nothing. I understand that fully but from what I saw get ready East Forsyth fans the Eagles got a pretty good squad this year that should be right there in the small 4a. Good luck to everyone this season. ITS FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!
 
I had been told conflicting info all day and finally just threw my hands up and decided to wait and see myself.

Was glad we scrimmaged Catholic. It was a good look. We are excited about the physicality displayed yesterday but more importantly came out injury free.

I believe the dial will turn up some Friday against Richmond since it's game situation style scrimmage.

As I stated yesterday if our QB play solidifies itself we're gonna be a tough out this year.

What time do you guys play East Friday?
 
East Forsyth vs Richmond will probably kickoff between 6:30-6:50. There are two scrimmages before and each scrimmage is an hour with a 10 min break in between
 
BlackKnightNut is posting Davie second more because of West will be down or Davie will field a decent team this year? With the exception of East I don't know of any other team in the CPC that would finish in the top half of the conference with Tabor, Parkland and Dudley in 3A. Conference looks to be way down this year.

Honestly I expect East to have no trouble with anyone, you could flip 2-4 imo any way. I expect West and Glenn to slide a bit and for Davie and RJR to be better. I don't know what to think about Reagan, but I would think they should improve a bit. They better, because their coach has been rather unimpressive lately after having a great trajectory his first few years.

I agree about the piedmont triad looking better. Tabor and Dudley especially. Don't forget southwest, they had a pretty good year and may be able to sustain it in 3A ball as opposed to 4A.

More like he gave himself & West a bad name. People would pull against West Forsyth just to get on here and talk Shi* to whoever that was. Don't try to put the whole 336 in with that guy. LOL! I miss that entertainment. He reminded me of the HP Central fan from the 2010-2012 years on here. That guy was the same way. With that said... I never saw them two on here at the same time? Could it be? Nah LOL!

Forgot about SW. They have an interesting game with Reynolds tonight. I've heard from more than a few Reynolds is trending up and could challenge East. Not sure about the latter but I heard they've improved. Parkland is the dark horse in that conference. Back to us after East I agree with you it may be RJR and Davie for second. I'm just glad it's Friday night and football is here for real now. I agree about keeping the CPC going on here. Let's keep it up.

I’ve heard similar that RJR, is slowly getting better and looking forward to see how their game finishes tonight

After Week 1 from the looks of things Davie County may have something to say before the CPC is decided.

I understand SW Guilford is up but I expected more from RJR off of a 6-6 team many expected to finish in the top tier of the CPC. Still early I guess.

Still looks like it's my Eagles conference to lose just hoping for some interesting matchups in conference.

I agree, thought RJR would have been better but they also have a few easy wins coming up like Atkins to boost their record. West Forsyth plays one of the best teams in Virginia according to maxpreps, that team appears to be a sloppy copy of Dudley’s State Championship team from a quick look at film. Intresting matchup in Virginia
 
To be completely honest about Davie, while they have some nice pieces and such, the close game on Friday against Page was more because of Page keeping them in the game.

Davie had a ton of trouble moving the ball on offense, and also the davie D had a lot of trouble stopping Page for most of the night. All of Davies points came off of Page's special teams errors and one TD was a nicely drawn up trick play.

Davie's QB #10, has some very nice measurables (6'4 220), but if you hurry him up, he has a hard time hitting his receivers. Page did a very good job of this. They were able to stop Davies run and made him pass. He is a sophomore, and it was his first varsity game, so with the pressure Page put on him, it didn't bode well.

Davie is well coached and it showed, they were in the right place at the right time, and it helped them keep it close with Page. They capitalized on Page's special teams mistakes. They won't blow you away with speed and athleticism, but they have some big boys who can move on the lines, that nose guard is nice. I think his name was Bishop Norman #68.

One thing that did happen was once the 3rd quarter wore into the 4th, you could tell Davie's bigs were gassed and Page's bigs weren't nearly as tired.

All that being said, they are well coached and they do have some good looking pieces. And I think they are probably the 3rd best team in the CPC behind EF and WF

Well the Head Coach is the leader of the team. My question is does anyone on the Reagan staff listen to the HC?

I'm trolling down to your NC Highschool FB sight to get some insight on West Forsyth. The Titans have a tough task in front of them. I guess their driving almost 5 hours on Saturday morning for a 4 pm game???!

Just a bit of info on Oscar Smith. 2 State Championships in top level 6A in 08 & 11. Very entertaining team to watch on a Friday or Saturday night.

I think the game against West Forsyth would've been better last season. They are not the same team this yr. They have a couple fast playmakers but no real passing threat.

Didn’t really have a pass threat last year either with that quarterback.
