Couple is Passing Game Questions

Just want to make sure.

1. You can not spike the ball to kill clock if QB is not under center?

2. Back is in Jet Sweep motion, ball is a short forward toss and ball hits the ground. Incomplete pass?

1) The "spike" rule has been changed for HS this year...you can spike it even from shotgun. NC experimented with the rule last year, and it was adopted nationwide for this season.

2) Correct...incomplete pass.

Just make sure there is a toss.

Worked a JV game a couple of year's ago. I don't think the QB understood the reason for tossing the ball. He handed it off instead. Fumble of course. Almost had to eject a coach.

"We practice this! We toss it!"

"Well, maybe coach but he didn't toss it this time."
