I understand that in the grand scheme of things that high school athletics are not at the top of the priority list for real life and human survival. But, since we're here on this site, I'll just stick to that... I tried to put myself in these young men and women's shoes for a minute and I absolutely couldn't imagine not having a senior sports season or a senior school year all together. Yeah, I know it's not the end of the world, but sports provide so much more than many will ever realize. Everyone is not as fortunate as you and I might be. The trajectory of a lot of young lives depend the structure, education, disciplines etc. that they will only ever get from sports. I know that without my senior season, I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't have gotten an athletic/academic scholarship. My life probably would be a whole lot different than it is now and it wouldn't be for the best. I just can't help but feel for the young athletes that have been negatively affected by this. I hope this craziness passes sooner than later and life returns to it's regular level of crazy. I'm just glad in times like these that we don't have a Socialist or an Alzheimers patient running the county...
