Congratulations to Shelby

Very classy posts. Very impressed with North Davidson's team and fans also. If had not been for that first interception the game may have been a lot closer, Quarterback had a great arm and very quick release. Number 1 was a great receiver. Best of luck in years to come.

Thanks so much. May try to get down to Shelby and meet some of ya'll next year. QB will be back and a couple of receivers and RB. Our offense will be okay bit our defense loses a lot of seniors.

I thought the game was closer than the score.

Then you my friend know nothing about football. Refs gifted ND 7 points on the punt debacle. Punter with knees on the ground with the ball and gets blasted. Should have been late hit call but instead 7 points for ND. A couple errant throws by Bess led to turnovers. An errant route by a WR led to another TO. Score could have and should have been much worse.

We are the State Champs.

Well, Champ98/96/94/?? I see you are back and still trashing other teams.

Hope you make it without getting banned longer this time.

Some things never change.

I guess you could also say if it wasn't for errant throws by North's QB and fumble by WR when driving the game could have been a lot closer. I was impressed by Shelby's QB after taking some hard hits by Stephens

Trashing? Nope. He said he thought the game was closer than the score. I made my argument for why I disagreed.

Mule....we know you don't like us. We've been in your head for years. Stop whining.

Those legal expenses can get really bothersome.

RIVALS has deep pockets. Hope you do as well.

And Yes. We saw it.

It says do not disrupt.
We are not disrupting.

Mule can't handle the truth.
So he cries.

It also says once you are banned, you are banned for life.

Might want to read the Ladies post about banned posters.

Is that what you want Mule? Would that make you happy to see someone hurt or sued?
Please explain exactly why any action was taken against Shelby posters in the first place since you had everything to do with it.

No. I suspect that your posting of outright lies about so called actions of the Board of Directors of the NCHSAA that never occurred was the reason you were banned. Your posting even caused the NCHSAA to issue a rare public denial of your allegations.

I had nothing to do with what you posted. And I had nothing to do with you being banned. You accomplished that all by yourself.

I know accepting responsibility for one's actions can be difficult but sometimes you just have to admit you screwed up and live with it.

Mule, for one who "had nothing to do with it", you sure do remember, with remarkable detail, the circumstances surrounding that event.
Tell us the rest of the story.
What was the topic?
What was your vocal position on the topic?
Were you involved in the debate?
Did leadership at the NCHSAA have any ties to Reidsville High School?
Did you appeal to ban others that disagreed with you?
Why do you assume you are talking to the same posters as before?
If the NCHSAA issued a denial, what were they denying and why?
And while we are at it, THIS ENTIRE DEBATE WAS INITIATED BY THE REIDSVILLE FAITHFUL, CLAIMING A DISTINCTION THEY DID NOT DESERVE AND PROCEEDING WITH THEIR VERY OWN STATE REPRESENTATIVE TO HAVE THEMSELVES PROCLAIMED AS THE "FOOTBALL CAPITAL OF NORTH CAROLINA" WHILE COMING OFF A 31 RECENT CONSECUTIVE YEAR ABSENCE FROM EVEN APPEARING IN A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

So... Back to the original points... Shelby was great and deserved to win. The pick six allowed them to get the jump on us and they kept the pedal on the gas. They were better. No issues.

Shelby is a larger version of Tville in their prime and a smaller version of Dudley. Some teams have great athletes and some have great coaching.

Shelby has both. For years and years. That's why they win like they do. Becsuse of the whole system they have, not just one aspect lol.

I was very impressed that they had obviously watched a lot of film and used the agressiveness of our DLine against us by killing us with a number of traps.

Honestly, the Shelby coaches put hours upon hours into watching film. They meet for anywhere from 5-7 hours every Sunday afternoon watching film. Coach Ware told us after the championship Saturday that after one of our early season losses, all of the coaches stayed at the field house until 4 AM breaking down the game film after the loss. That time commitment by the coaching staff is evident on the playing field. We are thankful for their dedication to the program.

If there was ever any question as to whether theTruedynasty and 98Champion are one and the same you have succeed masterfully in removing all doubts.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Champ.

Now might be a good time to clear something up.
Why was 98/72 State Champion banned?
Here is my understanding.
The NCHSAA did not recognize all NC public high school championship titles fairly and consistently.
In their information to the press and others, they slanted the recognition to favor those teams that belonged to the NCHSAA before and after all came under one umbrella governing body in 1977, which just happened to keep the same NCHSAA name.
They ignored the fact that rival associations prevented a "true state wide" champion from existing.
Therefore, all titles should be deemed "state titles"....or none of them should.
For two years on correcting the matter, NCHSAA protocol was followed to the letter by 98/72. Only when NCHSAA directors chose to abandon their own instructions to settle the matter were other methods by 98/72 involved.
All this is documented.
In the frenzy to ban those involved, no one bothered to ask "why would they do this?".
Simple answer.
Bring attention to right a wrong and set the record straight....even if they risked a banning.
Instead of being roundly criticized, they should have been praised. This country has been built on such "civil disobedience". No one was hurt. And it was peaceful.
After a year away, I think they should be allowed back in and welcomed.
Plus it is more fun when they are around.

Other than wake forest, were there any eastern teams that won state titles last Saturday? Seems western teams usually do well in these games.

Thanks for the info Shelby Lion. Tarboro don’t have many down years, Shelby beat them in 1998 I think in title game. Not sure about the year, but Travis Roseboro had a big game playing with a leg injury.

I might have been at that game. ;)

Eric White spelled Travis and ended up scoring a TD himself. I believe Anthony Harris started the scoring with about a 50 yard TD run on a sweep to the left.

Good times.....good times.

Congrats Shelby; sorry I'm a little late. Been extremely busy from traveling and the holidays. You guys deserved every bit of it. Hopefully we will have a chance to match up with you guys again next year. That first round lost to you guys really boosted our confidence at West Lincoln. Our boys took that lose really well and even better now that you guys are state championship.

How many usernames do you have now?

North Davidson was, top to bottom, one of the best teams that Shelby faced all season. I thought they were solid on offense, defense, and special teams, and also very well-coached.

I was thoroughly impressed with the D-Line, QB and WRs....those groups were as good as any.

Championship games typically come down to a few things...turnovers, taking advantage of the few opportunities you get, and which team makes more big plays...I felt that Shelby won due to taking better advantage of the turnovers, converting in the red zone, and winning the field position.

Congrats to both teams' players and coaches on great seasons!
