Just heard that NCCU womens basketball Coach has decided to cut 10 scholarship players after a losing season. Its her first year as head coach at the school. Recruits and their parents need to be aware of these kinds of actions when considering signing with a school. Scholarships are one year renewable agreements and in this instance the coach decided that she did not 10 of her current players any longer. From what is being said no reason or justification other than having a losing season lead to the decision. FYI....

Especially hate it for all the rising seniors they pulled scholarships from, whose transfer options are pretty limited at this point. It may be OK under the rules, but this kind of thing is not OK morally. Good luck to her trying to get recruits to trust her going forward.

Bleacher report has an article stating that 3 of the 10 are graduating early and the school will provide funding for the rest of the players/students to complete their degrees. This whole matter still reflects poorly on the school. The coach is entering her 2nd season and the speculation could be that she was purging the program of players she inherited. The problem is that 3 of the players were recruited by her. This is a new definition of “one and done”.
