Coach Heil was the most humbling person I have met. Hard charging, but very kind. He was, is, and will always be a family man; His family supported him in every way and in every game. I will miss him as a person, as a coach, I will miss his practice, I will miss the fun game at Hillside. Coach Heil did not only create a program but he called upon a huge audience in the stands while coaching at Purnell Swett. Most of his time was spent in Cumberland County, then on to Robeson County. This is a true loss on this football field and I can sit here and say that I will miss him and his family.

I will never forget the very first time he met me. I was at Purnell Swett, they were practicing, and I had my phone out taking shots and videos. Coach Heil roars from the other end of the field “HEY YOURE NOT FILMING THIS AND SHOWING IT TO THE NEXT TEAM ARE YOU?”

That will always stick to me

I hope peace to him and his family

Enjoy retirement Coach Heil

I was also glad to see Coach Heil finish on a high not at Fairmont. It was fitting after all the junk at Swett that caused him to leave that he was able to go out with a Conference title, a 2nd place finish and two playoff runs. Great guy and deserved to go out winning. Made a huge positive impression on many young men from Swett and Fairmont.

Great words pa.....

Question: Did Coach Heil receive a Farewell dinner for his 30+ years that he served?

Tattooed on his left arm are "S2V and Coach Heil friends forever." You can clearly see it in the photograph on the first post of this thread. If you have 360 software like I do. I'm a computer jeanieus!! :)
