What are your thoughts on this game. Clover pounded Ashbrook into the dirt 48-13 (and it wasn't even that close). Forestview beat Providence Day 27-6, a game that was close for three quarters.

The big Clover win was a shocker. I'd still give the edge to FV though.

I know Ashbrook is real young and brought only 8 starters back total from last year. I also read where Ashbrook had three turnovers in the first half alone.

Who knows right now....I'll go with Forestview. Bessemer City might be the 2nd best team in the county right now (yes, I said that).

The FV - Providence Day game could have gone either way. PD missed 3 field goals and got down near the goal a couple of times in the first half. If they convert one field goal and score one TD, that is a completely different game in the second half. FV had some sloppy moments and still got the win. By the second half, playing with a lead, their size and speed came through against PD.

It's hard to judge Clover against Ashbrook. Who knows how FV - Clover will go . Hard to say.

BadBoy: can you help me out with a roster question for FV. Who is #21 and who is #46. There's a discrepancy between the FV maxpreps roster and the stats credited in the Gazette??

Hate to say it, but I would go with East Gaston being the worst team in Gaston County before I would say that Bessemer is the 2nd best team.

Figured it out... #21 must have had a jersey issue and switched to #46 in the second half. He looked good in #21 and he looked great in #46. Maybe he should stick with 46.

Only problem with that is #46 is already taken by ILB Cameron Bame. Maybe he'd be willing to switch a couple numbers over, lol. My only concern with Forestview is the OL. Providence Day was shutting down almost everything Forestview did in the first half outside of the long run by QB Mac England. The defense looked pretty good for the most part. That Montgomery kid, however, gave the Jaguar defense lots of fits.
