Clinton vs WRH moved!!!

Thanks for the updated info 04. I will for sure tune in Saturday. Grab a Tiger by the Tail ...

Based off these latest playoff projections we need to win out....right now a projected trip back up to Elizabeth City in the 2nd round....seems like all roads led up that way but i rather avoid that for aslong as possible

Northeastern is strong. Definitely the favorite

Agreed and just a horrible match up for us....they can pass and run plus have a pretty strong run defense....we will cross that bridge when/if we come to it one game at a time right now the focus is Wallace.......but as a fan cant help but look ahead and hope we are on the opposite side of the bracket

Oh yeah can’t look ahead to anything now. Every game will feel like a playoff game from here on out. Traveling all the way to E City to play is not a good scenario for any team in the East

There are two QB's in our conference with more passing yards than NE, and those rushing yards and rushing defense is against weak competition. Yes, NE shut us out last year, but Clinton is much different than last year's team. Like you said, we'll cross that bridge when/if we get to it.

NE is a good place to watch a game, long drive, but a huge stadium with a very nice press box, with Heat!

Don’t they have that because they were 4A at one point? I think it’s time all schools in ECC step it up with renovations. Mainly visitor seating. WRH and JK both need better visitors seating.

I think ED has the nicest field in the conference, while Clinton has the largest stadium. I know I've said in the past it would be nice if Clinton had a turf field, but all they need to do is place heat in the press box and resurface the track because it looks atrocious with the cracks and grass crowing through said cracks. I haven't seen the inside of the field house since I graduated in the early 90's, so I can't speak on that.

JK finally got a new field house a few years back. Way better than the Quonset hut.

Never minded going to NE. We have done oK there. And yes last time they beat the brakes off us. But then so did WRH ....LAST YEAR !! New year, new teams and so far a little different outcome. Fans and supporters might be afraid, but am sure the teams arnt. The bigger they are the harder they fall.

I'm in no way disrespecting Coach Lewis(he is a legend), but Coach Cory Johnson has really lit a fire in this Clinton team. I see a lot more bounce and swag, and with the addition of Mohamed Kaba, there are more players laying the wood this year than I've seen in years past. They have really bought in to getting 1% better every game.

I think DarkHorse Stadium visitor seating is excellent. Large enough and the ground was bui;t up 5 feets to position the bleacher. Concrete walkways

Yes. Northeastern was 4A before Pasquotank County High School was opened in the early 2000's

I believe the coach has been using that 1% as an example of making sure you improve each week even if it’s only a little. I think the papers have quoted him on 1%

1% better everyday...pretty much like someone already said its about improving everytime you hit the field even if its just 1%.......and yes the team has brought into that motto cause each game they look better than the last

Maybe Dark Horse Stadium needs some upgrades.

Dark horse stadium could use some upgrades. We are blessed to have what we have but we could change a few things to enhance it even more. Sound system would be my # 1. Have new speakers mounted on light poles instead of on top of press box. Have a speaker inside concession stand so our hard workers inside could at least listen to the broadcast to keep track of how things are going, can’t see much from concession stand.

Cracks in base around press box worry me sometimes that it may fall one day. I know it is inspected yearly but still doesn’t mean some of us that are either inside or on top of it on the regular don’t think about it some.

Visitor seating isn’t that old.
Scoreboard is still newish.

If someone could keep people off the fence during the game in front of the stands that would be great. Was so packed on homecoming you couldn’t walk, and it was mostly because people were standing on fence are in front of stands. Plenty of seating and fence lines the end zones, but to stand directly in the line of people going to and from restroom/concession stands makes a mess.

We announced it, for people to move (PA did anyway) and no one even budged. Oh well I guess.

All in all, Dark Horse stadium is one the more nicer stadiums I’ve been too. We are truly blessed to call it home.

I didn't know there were cracks in the press box. And yes, the placement of the speakers as you suggested is a great idea. If I had the money, I would donate to replacing the home stands with aluminum at the same elevation with chair back seats in the middle(for boosters, etc). I would have also built the concession stand at an angle facing the field so the volunteers could at least get a glimpse of the action. I don't think raising the monies for some of the most pressing upgrades would be a problem. I was at the homecoming game(Class of '93) and heard the announcement, but like you said, those folks didn't move a muscle. Maybe they should think about placing bleachers behind the end zones like they do at some other schools.
