Darkhorses make the long trip to Concord to take the Vikings. I dont know much about the team besides what i saw on YouTube and video highlights on maxpreps/hudl. They do have a dynamic athlete by the name of DeAndre Boykins who has multiple D1 offers from Clemson,UNC,Louisville,Auburn just to name a few. For Clinton this is a important for one it will be the first time we will get tested as the previous 3 opponents were less than stellar. Its a long trip to Concord on a activity bus but perfect practice for what you will have to deal with at some point in the post season as it seems in the 2A East all roads lead to a long trip up to Elizabeth City. I've Seen good things these last 3 games and i seen some bad things as well, would like to see us put it all together this week and play a complete game against a quality opponent. Believe we need to start fast being away from home but feel it will probably be good if we get popped in the mouth a time or two see how we respond. At the end i believe our running game will be to tough to stop behind that oline and our defense will be stingy enough to hold the Vikings at bay....My score prediction Clinton 28 Central Cabarrus 16 GO HORSES

Boykins is an athlete, CC will place him all over the field from what I have seen from their games. They can score really quickly, so it will be imperative Clinton use ball and clock control. Their QB has a quick release and the ability to scramble, so assignments will be key. They lost a tough one to Hunter Huss, so I'm sure they will be hungry. On offense, we should be able to move the ball, especially in the Power-I. They don't see much power running in that part of the state, maybe our bevy of backs will show them just what it is!

I think we should take Boogie and make him shadow Boykins everywhere he goes

From the games I've watched, he mostly plays CB, but on offense he will either line up at RB or WR. They do have depth because he has been given periods of rest. And playing on turf means a faster surface for Boogie and the gang.

Football Fanatic, all roads don't necessarily lead to Elizabeth City; if the Horses run the table, the seedings would come down to a coin flip for 1st seed

Thats why i said "as it seems" yes we would have to run the table but easier said then done is it possible hell yes is it going to be easy heck no but alot of football to be played just gotta take it one game at a time

Not sure if this is a test. Central Cabarrus is somewhat less than avg and haven't defeated anyone of note. They're the best of the cupcakes. If you can't beat them......

I don't care you come here or we go there hopefully we'll see y'all there in the playoffs that is

It’ll be my first time traveling to Central Cabarrus. Looking forward to seeing new facilities, new places etc. Horses will tested IMO for the first time all year this Friday. Let’s see how we hold up against a more talented team than we’ve seen to date. Also, will the bus lag hurt us early. Who knows, we will see.

If you can’t make it, tune in to www.milxr.com/oldies1170

Should make our fast athletes even faster. Boogie and Jaheim already can go, turf is meant for speed and Clinton has a plenty of it.

DeAndre Boykins didn't play last week due to concussion protocol, not sure if he will be available this week. Doesn't matter, we're gonna play our best regardless.

I'd like to see this game. Central Cabarrus is a large 3AA school but has lost in a close game to Hickory Ridge and a fairly close game to Hunter Huss.
I was looking at the Simmons ratings and he has them at number 14 in the 3A classification with a power rating of 131.9.
It makes games even more interesting when teams meet that are so far away from each other...Good luck to both.

They're overrated

I had to look at that a few times LOL!

Not sure what type of algorithm they are using but Reidsville is at like 10 with Midway at 2 cmon you know that doesnt sound right....and cant say its the strength of schedule cause Midway hasnt beaten anyone worth noting......Conference play will correct that error Midway is improved but cmon mannnn

Thanks Chopper. I pay attention to the Simmons ratings and your prognostications, too. Last week was an example on calling the KM-Shelby match.
I’d like to see The Dark Horses win this one for Wizard of the East.

What happen to all that speed ya'll were talkin about?

Defensive speed too!

You were right, looks like Central Cabarrus had too much defensive speed for the 'horses'

Clinton by 14
Close but -3 and in the opposite direction

Central Cabarrus?
Ya'll better hope you stay small 2A, if you know what's good for you. 2A power Clinton.... I pegged ya'll for knocking off a few(even Wallace). This was one of the weaker 704 teams. Clinton softer than I thought.

Where was all that mouth before this game? Probably too busy under somebody’s desk.

I actually posted ya'll should be able to handle them and it's not a real test, but I was WRONG!!
There is no y’all. Definitely not a Clinton fan and most Clinton posters up here know that.

Don’t troll if you can’t take getting trolled in return.

It even surprises me. When weaker teams step out to play non 704 they look dominant.

Ok first of all.lets stop acting like it was a blow out we are talking about a 8-6 game midway thru the 4th quarter.....last 2 CC scores came off Clinton turnovers giving CC a incredibly short field. Central Cabarrus won the game fair and square and played hard but Clinton also made it alot easier with the mistakes made late in the game

..and what caused ALL THOSE Clinton mistakes, I just read THREE(not one, not two, but THREE) interceptions.

Sounds like a dominant defense to me. Also sounds like they played with the horses and got serious in the 2nd half.

It' ok brother, no shame in losing to a 704 team(even though it's a WEAK one). It's not like ya'll lost to East Surry or Edenton Holmes.
