Pretty much what we expected not the best measuring stick but we did what we were suppose to do....probably won't know how good we really are till the Northside Jax game...but we looked very very good just need to iron out a couple things I saw

It was the DarkHorses 1st game . They were pretty smooth and played a lot of people early mixing in different positions.
Interested to see the stats on defense we gave up little to nothing all night....Skinner had 131 yards in the first half on only 11 carries....Devante Smith is unblockable he was in the backfield all night....not sure how I feel about Kris Williams returning punts not really a spot for your starting QB .......Chandler Perry has a LEG on him.....SWO has some bright spots but looks like it may be a longggg year for the Stallions
Offensve stats: Ryheem Skinner 11 carries 131 yards 1 TD 2 receptions 36 yards...Tyion Wright 8 carries 46 yards 1 TD 1 reception 57 yards TD......Jalen Smith 9 carries 44 yards TD.....Kris Williams was 3-4 for 93 yards and 1 passing TD
SWO has some big boys I think they need to get out of that spread just didnt work tonight Horses were all over it....they would probably do better running a straight forward running attack
1st string offense was done after halftime.....glad we get a chance to keep everyone rested and healthy probably will be the same thing next Thursday against Smithfield-Selma
Jalen Smith's 9 carries for 44 yards were workhorse style (like his Daddy Ralph) getting about 5 yards each carry from the fullback position. Somebody is going to overlook him because of his size and the other backs in the backfield. If they do he'll take it to the house .
He came close to it a couple times tonight dragging Stallions all around his ankles
I realize Clinton is a great program but SWO has just collapsed after Coach's retirement. This just seems like a very hard fall from the top.
So SWO same Clinton team same SWO team on the field. Even with coach Padget on the sidelines. How much more different of a outcome do you think the game would have been? Same goes for last weeks against Jacksonville same kids playing what do you all think what have happened? Funny how all of you were praising the hiring of this young coach now things not going your way all of a sudden it's poor coaching. Not that your just getting beat by better teams.
Let me first say that I have no idea if it's bad coaching or players not caring or lack of talent or whatever that has caused SWO to decline so quickly because I have not seen them play. BUT, all of you need to quit kidding yourselves if you don't think bad coaching will drop a team. Look at Clinton just a few years ago after Coach Lewis resigned, y'all had as bad of teams as you could ask for. Coach Lewis comes back and in just a few years y'all are back in the state championship. Look at South Columbus the last 2 years, losing to teams that they had dominated. WRH won 2 games and the next year Joey Price goes and wins back to back state championships. Let Coach Lewis resign again and Clinton could be back at the bottom even with all those athletes, just sayin. Again, have no idea what SWO's problem is but bad coaching CAN and DOES make a difference no matter if you have quality athletes you have on the field.
So what your saying is that since Jacksonville is subpar and just average. Their coaching is just bad? Because athlete wise their kids match up with anybody. Speed let's not even go there find me overall faster team. What I am getting at is it seems no matter what the Cards do who they would beat in Onlsow county they get no respect.
Have no idea what Jacksonville is. I know they beat SWO last week, but really don't know anything about them. I do believe though that they have defeated SWO for quite a few years in a row now though, even when Coach Padgette was still there. FYI, I am a South Columbus Stallion fan, not SWO.
Also, like a said, I have no idea if SWO's coach is good or bad or if their players are good or bad because I have not seen them play. I am just making a general statement that good coaching is essential if you want to have a winning program.
Has Skinner committed any where or thoughts on where he might go? One heck of a running back.
How long will it be till the SWO faithful are calling Phil Padgett back???......its rough replacing legendary coaches
He is amazing and will most likely become the DarkHorses' career rushing leader, the rest of the DarkHorse backfield is very good as well. The thing to look at Skinner is yards per carry because with the talent the DarkHorse's have he won't get as many carriers as some feature backs.

I said the same thing I was wondering why the hell are they in the spread with boys that big.....not as athletic and fast as they were 3-4 years ago but #34 is a runner so why not run wing t or wishbone something?
Not a big deal loosing to Clinton at all they have a nice team that should challenge for a state crown, but the issue on the SWO side is exactly who on the schedule can they beat? it is starting to become a real issue, and say what you want, but Richlands next week could be the nail in the coffin. Dempsey is a really nice man and honestly I think he is a good coach, but if we lose to Richlands after already losing to Dixon last year. Well I am sure there is still a place for Dempsey on the staff (Honestly I hope he gets 4 years to turn this around).
Saw some highlights from the game...I know everyone is raving about Tyion Wright's 57 yard TD reception but did you see that block by Prentice Murphy...that poor kid from SWO is still seeing stars...talk about a BLINDSIDE!!!!!!!

Yes i agree I dont think y'all should be running a spread offense but even with y'all running a wing t or other running offense we still win that game by 2-4 TDs we are just better right now
Skinner...I was sure hoping N.C. State would show more interest. I thought they were. I don't know why they aren't! He likes N. C. State. But, wherever he goes, I will be a fan! He's an even better person than he is a football player! That's saying a lot! Hope some of the other guys will get on the D-1 radar, as well!
Tyion Wright.Prentice Murphy, Frank Nelson,Mike Kramer are seniors and College prospects on my radar along with Skinner
Sadly besides Ryheem who seems to be barely on the radar they are not......which is why I'm really confused about recruiting and scouting nowadays in general....take Johnnie Glaspie and #4 from Wallace can't remember his name right now you mean to tell.me those two are that much better than Skinner and Wright???.....I remember Skinner running circles around those two his sophomore year playing against Wallace at the dog pound......and those two we're good enough to go to ECU you would.think Skinner at this point would have at least 5-10 legit D1 offers from.atleast the big 5 UNC,Duke,NC State,Wake Forest, and ECU but nothing its crazy idk what recruiters and scouts look for.....I understand he had a issue with his grades but he is eligible now.....someone is going to get a steal and some other schools right here are going to regret letting a diamond in the rough get away
Prentice Murphy would definitely be D1 if he was 2 inches taller and about 20-30,pounds heavier kid has a motor that does not quit.....I see him playing somewhere next year maybe Campbell,Charlotte,Elon etc
Not really SWO is a shell of their former shelf.....Shelby is on another level from what I hear....only team in NC that can hang with the Golden Lions is the Carolina Panthers....and Cam Newton will have to bring his "A" game to beat Shelby lol
