Cherokee girls vs albemarle

Cherokee is a good team with a good guard. Good luck to both teams I have a feeling it will be a good one.
I agree Braves. I believe all teams should be respected at this point. I am expecting a great game actually.
I think it will be a great atmosphere for the kids. I love games like this, it's what HS basketball is about.
OK girls, the boys took care of business last night so now it's your turn. I'm sure Cherokee will be a really tough out, but just go play your game and I'm sure you will be fine. Would'nt it be great to have both Albemarle teams in the western regional finals. Best of luck tonight. Go Dogs!

Bottom line this is the first time these girls have been on this stage and played like it. Cherokee showed up to play. Do not disrespect these girls saying no contest. They played nervous and tight never got going, never relaxed and Cherokee was up 6 at half? No contest lol. Like I said hats off to Cherokee they played a great game. Recycled anytime you want to compare credentials let me know sir. Otherwise kick rocks. Anybody who played against or watched this team knew from watching this team tonight that they could not get going and played tight aka couldn't get relaxed. Let's remember these are HS kids who have never been or even had a team on this stage. The previous two years prior to last year a combined 15-32 since 41-13. This is all new to them and tonight was probably one of their poorest games played this season and Cherokee is not the toughest team they played.
Like I said Cherokee showed up to play we did not and Cherokee deserves that win, they earned it.

They were prepared no worries on that like I said Cherokee showed up to play we didn't. These girls have accomplished a lot in the last two years. Think about it before last year when's the last time you heard about the albemarle girls varsity? It was a great experience for them. With 11 coming back they are motivated to get back there next year.
With 11 coming back next year you should be in great shape. nation. Experience on the big stage is something that will pay off down the road. It can be overwhelming for kids that have never been there before. Thought you did a great job with these girls this year nation and look forward to next year. Go Dogs.
No disrespect here. Both teams played hard. Braves were better prepared. Played 2 freshmen most of the game. Definitely their first time on this stage, but it did not show. Albemarle will definitely be strong next year, but little ole Cherokee is not going away anytime soon!
Now on to more important matters: WS Prep. Toughest team we will have played all year. Gonna have to bring our A+ game and have Lady Luck on our side too!

Thank you Buddy. Yeah they did things in this game they haven't done all season. Those refs though wow lol. Kept calling the wrong numbers even on fouls lol. Don't know where they got those guys but I don't believe they should have been reffing on that stage.
I will be up rooting for our boys today and good luck to Cherokee today.
Mont in regards to preperation the girls were prepared they had 0 issue beating the press etc. Cherokee didn't do anything that we haven't seen all season. We didn't execute offensively defensively etc. They just for lack of a better term got stage fright. Why don't you ask any of the 3 teams we beat in the playoffs how we play and see if it even remotely touched how we played yesterday and you will see what I am saying. They were out of character.

What are you talking about recycled? We were prepared they it was a big stage for them no harm in that. It was a great run. As I stated Cherokee showed up and we didn't no blame on anybody.
Very proud of these kids for ALL that they overcame this season with injuries, and all the other stuff. It would have been easy to just quit with all the adversity and obstacles they been through this season. They kept fighting and came through in a big way. No kid from this team has any reason to drop their head or feel bad about last night. It was great experience for them.

Nation, have you ever lost a game to a better team? It seems to me when Albemarle girls lose it's always something (refs, stage fright, somebody sick, somebody hurt) just admit Cherokee was the better ball team and move on, the rest just looks like sour grapes (i.e., we've played better teams etc. etc. etc.)

Cherokee would not win our conference or beat West Mont maybe not even south Davidson if they were in our conference.
HD I was impressed with. Very good team play, very good defensive team that from watching the game they could beat Prep if they were accustomed to seeing that type of play. I thought the coach did a fantastic job with that team.
In regards to Cherokee beating Albemarle 10 out of 10 times off a 13 point win lmao right!!!!!
Monroe is way better than Cherokee and they beat us by 15 and we actually had the lead in that game until Robinson went down at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. This years Monroe team would beat us 6/10 maybe 7/10 times if we played well. Cherokee is no where near that Monroe team.
In closing do not disrespect this Albemarle team. Cherokee showed up to play and Albemarle didn't it's really as easy as that. Congrats to Cherokee on a great season.
Oh one final thing Robbinsville may have beat West Mont I didn't personally see the game but from what I was told West Mont controlled that whole game up until the end. West Montgomery would have finished no better than 5th in the NW or 4th in the SMC so that will give you a clue where your team would have been in those 2 conferences. Cherokee 10 out of 10 over Albemarle easy.

Make that 15 out of 15..."weak" can't even begin to describe the YVC compared to the SMC and NW.

In the NW you would finish behind Prep, Bishop, Atkins, Mt Airy and maybe even East Surry. In the SMC HD, Hayesville Cherokee and Robbinsville were all better. Di you not drop a 20+ decision to Mt Airy in the second round last year and now a 15+ lost to a depleted Cherokee?
