Cherokee Braves undefeated (Boys & Girls)

Looks to be another exciting basketball season in Cherokee this year as both teams remain undefeated! Boys and girls won the Christmas tournament at Gatlinburg-Pittman today that featured teams from 4 states.

Both teams are 7-0 as they head into a big matchup against arch rival Swain County on Dec. 23rd.

Good article on the Cherokee Braves boys and girls teams in the Citizen-Times (link below). The SMC is looking strong in both boys and girls so far this year with Cherokee, Hayesville, and Hiwassee Dam. Robbinsville is behind schedule due to football but I look for them to enter into the mix as the season goes on. Should be another exciting year in the SMC!!

Girls looked good in a win over the panthers tonight. Close game that could of went either way.

Boys played lights out. If the Knights improve as the season goes on I see us as the favorite for the SMC or 2nd at worst. I split out at halftime and it was 35 to 12 or so. 6-5 Center for the Black Knights didnt get to play tonight but he should be back for the next game.

Cherokee boys move to 9-0 on the season as they beat East Rutherford yesterday 66-52.

Hayesville @ Cherokee next Friday night (1/2) should be a dandy!
