Championship time announced

we've played those 11AM games before....vs. E. Lincoln for sure in 2008 and maybe the next yr. 2009 vs. Newton-Conover....the time sucks but what are you gonna do but show up play the game or root for your team??

E. Guilford would play the game before Reidsville if the both make it. Eastern coached by former Rams player and coach Doug Robertson.

Even 12:00 or 1:00 is too early. These early times are a MAJOR disruption to the players preparation rhythm and create a lose/lose for those teams long distances away (leave at 6:00 AM: bad, or spend the night: even worse and expensive). Not to mention the competitive disadvantage with one team being very close and the other being a great distance (e.g. mountain team vs eastern piedmont team when played at NC State).

I know they are trying to maximize the amount of people in attendance but high school football was meant to be played under the lights.

S Guilford could play in first game if they make coached by former Ram coach Earl Bates. If all win that would make for one hell of a pic for Reidsville fans

Play Friday night 7:30.
Saturday 2pm and 7pm.

Hey btango. You blabbed that the ADs and coaches control the NCHSAA decisions and can force changes. It is not possible that the majority of coaches agree that 11 AM is an acceptable time for championship games to start.
Which way it is? And don't tell us the venues dictate the start times. Who is getting served here? The universities?
If they can't provide acceptable times, MOVE THE GAMES SOMEWHERE ELSE! WE CANNOT STAND THE ARROGANCE OF THIS NCHSAA!

A comment that fans of all teams can agree upon!

I do not like three games on Saturday at one facility due to it causes the early start time. As I noted they need to go to a Friday night game at two places and then two om Saturday at three spots.

The host does have some say in days games can be played and game times.

I have not heard start times come up at the coaches association meeting in the past but it may this year. The schools did go to the NCHSAA regarding the basketball regional semifinals being played at the higher seed or at a neutral site and that was changed. Charlotte schools had complained before but did not get traction. Then the 1A schools which were at a huge geographical disadvantage got on board.

I will also ask some of the coaches that play at 11am what some of their opinions are.

1. 11 am was brought about because Duke is a rat hole.

2. I wish 2a and 4a were together. But it's personal.

Apparently you haven't seen any of the stadium renovations that have gone on at Duke the last several years.

Wallace Wade was not a good venue and Duke was not a good host. Stadium is top notch and their is a different regime in place in the athletic department and football staff there.

Yes, Duke actually cares about football now. The results on the field speak for themselves.

Get over it people...just be glad your team has the privilege of playing at such a horrible time Geezz!!!...once the game kicks off players coaches and fans won't even be thinking about the start time...suck it up buttercup and play ball
