Ledford has no imagination on offense. The only way they beat North Davidson is if they play out of character and throw the ball to Coleman Reich all night. And even then I don't think they score enough points to win. Their style of play plays right into the Black Knight defenses hands.
We sat in the stands and tried to figure out what is lacking with central Davidson... size-wise, they aren’t lacking. But they lack speed. The third string running back from north smoked their entire secondary . They lack strength. Several plays ended with 4 north def. linemen hitting the running back as he was getting the hand off. They also lack numbers. Not too many back ups to choose from.
Playing football for central Davidson must be a dreary affair. They need to put south Davidson on their schedule to give them a shot at winning, although after last night, I’m not even sure they’d win that contest.
Next year I think Oak Grove will be a top 3 team in conference. Came away very impressed by the backup qb #19. #4,#10,#22,#80 are pretty good players.
Ledford got lucky honestly. Oak Grove was on the 5 yard line with 4 downs to score but turned the ball over. If it was for Ledford's defense (which scored the 1st td) and special teams. Oak Grove wins by 14. Ledford's offense struggled. ALOT. Which is shocking because they have athletes
How was Ledford lucky, when OG only managed 70 yards on offense? I do agree OG will prob finish in the top tier next year.
Ledford offense is TERRIBLE. The qb #5 tries to hard and hurts his team more than help. You have a very dynamic running game with #11, #3, #5 also good receiving core with #23 and #2. Why are you not getting the ball to the playmakers? Qb triea to take over and run the ball way too much. Also ball placement on his throws are shaking. Hey this is from somebody not from Davidson co. If Ledford play against an above average team, they are in big trouble
Let's not get carried away now. Central sucks for sure, but if West can beat South by two TDs surely Central could do the same. I'm not quite ready to put them at THAT level of loserdom...
We’ll take what we can get, but Thomasville going east shows how screwed up the system would be. Don’t think that’s ever happened.I can’t post the link since it’s from a rival site, but if you were to google search for NCHSAA footballplayoff projections 2018, you can likely find it.
That model has Thomasville as a 14 seed playing on the road vs South Columbus (2A East).
Way too early to tell at this point, but it’s fun to look at.
Nothing the NCHSAA does would surprise me. East Bladen is 150 miles southeast of Thomasville.I copied and pasted that off of a WRAL site. It doesn’t seem right that they list E Bladen as the eastern most west team if Thomasville is playing isn’t the east.
Was it last year that Whiteville was in the west?Last year, when North played in the east, I checked it and indeed it was legitimate. There was even a team further west. Forest Hills, I think it was.
Still makes for some stupidly far first round matchups though.
Was it last year that Whiteville was in the west?
That’s some crazy stuff. There has to be a better way.Yes. You are correct. Whiteville played in the West last year. As a 7 seed, they hosted North Wilkes in the first round (239 Miles one way)
They won and then traveled to Mountain Heritage High for round two (288 Miles one way)
