CCC Scores

Next year I think Oak Grove will be a top 3 team in conference. Came away very impressed by the backup qb #19. #4,#10,#22,#80 are pretty good players.

Ledford got lucky honestly. Oak Grove was on the 5 yard line with 4 downs to score but turned the ball over. If it was for Ledford's defense (which scored the 1st td) and special teams. Oak Grove wins by 14. Ledford's offense struggled. ALOT. Which is shocking because they have athletes

Ledford has no imagination on offense. The only way they beat North Davidson is if they play out of character and throw the ball to Coleman Reich all night. And even then I don't think they score enough points to win. Their style of play plays right into the Black Knight defenses hands.

We sat in the stands and tried to figure out what is lacking with central Davidson... size-wise, they aren’t lacking. But they lack speed. The third string running back from north smoked their entire secondary . They lack strength. Several plays ended with 4 north def. linemen hitting the running back as he was getting the hand off. They also lack numbers. Not too many back ups to choose from.

Playing football for central Davidson must be a dreary affair. They need to put south Davidson on their schedule to give them a shot at winning, although after last night, I’m not even sure they’d win that contest.

I hope you are right. I’m encouraged by a glimmer of discipline shown by north last night. Nowhere near as many penalties.

I'm a little puzzled by Central too. How did they nearly beat Oak Grove and Lexington? Then though lose 35-0 to East? Do they have injuries? I guess after a while the losses begin to weigh down on the players and they hang their head and also lack of numbers is hard to play with week after week too.

How was Ledford lucky, when OG only managed 70 yards on offense? I do agree OG will prob finish in the top tier next year.

LAWD HAVE MERCY???Not being sure that CD could beat SD is all that is needed to be said about their football program

2 things I believe is that ND will beat Ledford by double digits, and thomasville is winning their last 2 games to finish at an amazing 8-3...I would call that an outstanding season...even if thomasville goes 1-1 the last 2 games it will still be a very successful year

Ledford offense is TERRIBLE. The qb #5 tries to hard and hurts his team more than help. You have a very dynamic running game with #11, #3, #5 also good receiving core with #23 and #2. Why are you not getting the ball to the playmakers? Qb triea to take over and run the ball way too much. Also ball placement on his throws are shaking. Hey this is from somebody not from Davidson co. If Ledford play against an above average team, they are in big trouble

Didn’t say I was a Ledford fan, just curious in your statement that said “they were honestly lucky they won,” when I read in the-dispatch, OG only had 70 offensive yards.

Let's not get carried away now. Central sucks for sure, but if West can beat South by two TDs surely Central could do the same. I'm not quite ready to put them at THAT level of loserdom...

I just chuckled... not because you’re wrong... but because you’re right. It sounds absurd to say that Central is worse than South. It’s all theoretical, but they have one common opponent. Atkins. South beat Atkins by 13 and Central beat them by 12.

West plays Central on the last Friday of the season. I can’t wait to see how that game turns out. If West beats them by more than 14, I will award the mythical “suckiest team” trophy to Central Davidson.

How many teams outa the ccc can/will make the playoffs? Big games coming up for thomasville last 2 weeks of the regular season...if they win both games will they make the playoffs? What about if they go 1-1 will they make it then? My guess is NO,and most definitely won't make it if they go 0-2

I can’t post the link since it’s from a rival site, but if you were to google search for NCHSAA footballplayoff projections 2018, you can likely find it.

That model has Thomasville as a 14 seed playing on the road vs South Columbus (2A East).

Way too early to tell at this point, but it’s fun to look at.

We’ll take what we can get, but Thomasville going east shows how screwed up the system would be. Don’t think that’s ever happened.

In this scenario, and I again I must reiterate that it is JUST a scenario...

Last 4 in with adjusted MaxPreps rankings:
North Johnston (65)
East Lincoln (66)
Maiden (40)
Newton-Conover (58)

First 4 out with adjusted MaxPreps rankings:
Pasquotank (68)
Owen (69)
Providence Grove (71)
T.W. Andrews (72)

2AA Regions:
Eastern-most WEST team: East Lincoln
Western-most EAST team: North Surry

2A Regions:
Eastern-most WEST team: East Bladen
Western-most EAST team: Clinton

I copied and pasted that off of a WRAL site. It doesn’t seem right that they list E Bladen as the eastern most west team if Thomasville is playing isn’t the east.

Nothing the NCHSAA does would surprise me. East Bladen is 150 miles southeast of Thomasville.

Thomasville going east has never ever happened...Interesting matchup if it did happen never played them before, might have to make a beach trip out of it since its right there

Last year, when North played in the east, I checked it and indeed it was legitimate. There was even a team further west. Forest Hills, I think it was.

Still makes for some stupidly far first round matchups though.

The East-West balance is much further East in 2A than 2AA.

Was it last year that Whiteville was in the west?

Yes. You are correct. Whiteville played in the West last year. As a 7 seed, they hosted North Wilkes in the first round (239 Miles one way)

They won and then traveled to Mountain Heritage High for round two (288 Miles one way)

That’s some crazy stuff. There has to be a better way.
