Davie beat Page, that can't be good for us, but it's still a rivalry.

Ledford is idle before facing Randleman, South Rowan is idle before taking on East Rowan.

North doesn't have as good a defense this year. Probably gonna have to outscore people. Team speed is an issue against fast teams. Still get penalties on our sideline yelling and raving.

We might win the CCC but we won't dominate like the last couple of years. Ledford doesn't sound as good either. Salisbury and Tville are improved, might be a problem. Oak Grove beat Trinity 54-0. Trinity sucks but Oak Grove will be way better this year, they finally have a full class of seniors.

Davie - beats North. Lack of defense last night. Questionable offense. Davie beat Page.
West Davidson - Oh man. South sucks. West isn’t possibly as bad. They hung with Wheatmore for a bit!
Wheatmore - East doesn’t want to be a conference with them, but they sure do schedule a lot of Randolph Co. Game. Wheatmore wins big.
Oak Grove - As bad as Trinity was, Jordan Matthews is worse. Lost BIG to perennially sucky Bartlett Yancey. Oak Grove stops scoring when they put the 450lb lineman in as QB.
Carson - Salisbury is good. Carson is better.
Thomasville - I’m tired of everyone giving Montgomery Central the championship because of a former coach and a former storied program. Build it back and you can have some kudos. Until then, prove it.

Went 7-2 last week. Could be 8-2 pending if Wheatmore beats West. This week is tougher.

Davie- Davie will be more polished then Parkland was last week. Has the potential to get ugly. ND better find an answer on offense.
West Davidson- Well, it’s SD
Wheatmore- East still searching for an identity. “3 yards & cloud of dust, milking the clock.”
Oak Grove- JM worse then Trinity. Over before half. Bench will get a lot of playing time.
Salisbury- Bold pick. Salisbury offense could be the difference maker in this one. Salisbury speed might be too much.
Thomasville- To early to tell with MC. Thomasville is moving in right direction.

The only good thing about playing at Trinity was that they have an expansive visitor’s side. (Why, I’ll never know)... but J-M looks much smaller. With it being Labor Day weekend, OG might not quite fill up the visitor’s side... but I’d. Be shocked if they don’t.

I’m still scratching my head about this game. Must have not had many options for non-conference opponents. I have a feeling the clock will be running non-stop by mid-way through the 3rd quarter.

I can see where you might think that... but look at my posts over the course of my history here. I am an East Davidson fan. I don’t root against them. I was in the stadium when they pulled the trick play to beat Ledford to gain a share of their last conference championship. Were you there? If you were, I bet you weren’t cheering any harder than I was.

So yes, looks like the North D needs work. North O will still score plenty this year in the conference. Oak Grove decimates another terrible team before rivalry week, should be a good game I think.

West and East are improved, both did better against Wheatmore than expected.

Salisbury defense looking real good right now, that will be a main factor in the conference this year. Their speed will also help them tremendously on offense in this conference.

Tville lost a tough one. The only thing holding them back in my mind is depth. Still think they finish high in the conference, the Salisbury game is going to be huge for them in the final standings.

Why do you practice numerous plays during the week and only run 5-8 of them on Friday nights? It just doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. East Davidson has to become more creative on offense. The run defense was good but the pass defense needs work.

It’s a good question that you pose. I am not closely connected to the team, or coaching staff so I don’t know what their philosophy is. Maybe they just don’t think that they are comfortable with the plays to pull them off?

Hopefully the play book will open up as the season progresses. There is plenty of good football left to play! I still think East can finish 6th or higher!

Totally agree again with you EDEagle, I was at the game too and I think a lot of the East fans are frustrated. I really like the Coach and think he is a good coach but I hate it for the young men on the team that there isn't a better offensive game plan each week. You have to put more creativity in the offense like more than one formation and put in some motion and fakes to get the defense out of position. Some RB and WR screens would help too, they need to get the ball out to their playmakers, #4 is their best offensive weapon and is very good in the open field with the ball in his hands but no screens or jet sweeps to him at all. He has been very close to breaking a long TD. They need to use more than just a one back set and use #7 and #6 running the ball some inside and get the defense keying on them then fake to them and dump it to #4 or run some jet sweeps and get it to him out in space to let him run. Also, a couple of trick plays from time to time wouldn't hurt either to catch the defense by surprise. Hope they will start calling more plays or make some changes on offense to start the conference or they are gonna struggle to score points.
