Carolina Forest at Fairmont

Fairmont by 5 TDs. Haven't even seen CF this year but they've been weak in past years. Too much firepower on Fairmont.

Dont let last years record(5-7) fool you....Pay attention to who they played(Fort Dorchester) and still held their own. Carolina Forest is a great team. Nothing to sleep on at all.....

CF is in Myrtle Beach. The Tornadoes may be in trouble. I can see them starting their season 1-3, with their lone win in non-conference coming at South Brunswick. I saw Ashley at the jamboree and they looked much improved. Fairmont has to travel to Ashley. I do not see things getting any easier for them in conference once they start playing run teams, which they struggle to stop. South Columbus, Red Springs, and Whiteville may all take it to them if they do not get it figured out.

Now you're making me rethink my Fairmont by 5 TD prediction lol. I'm going with the tornadoes all the way but I will lessen my TDs to 3. Fairmont by 20 plus points in this one.

Who is running their defense this year? What defense are they using? ( 3-4, 4-3 ect.)
3-4
We will score on CF, but they are much better coached than Westover who we lost to(IMO)(from what I know of them). They'll probably beat the shnizzle whizzle out of us. Jarique will be the Jerry Rice once again and still stand as the #1 receiver in Week 2 as he was in Week 1. Mclean and Arnette have to pick it up in the running game this week to keep them off the board.

CF is just way tooooooo duuuuurn good. I am telling you they may make us hotel back in the woods.

In the mean time, there may be an element of surprise(be prepare to see this if attending the game) It is going to be wonderful.....

I know CF is lurking this thread like Piranas

I hope my Vikings beat you, but I am pulling for you in all the rest!
LOL
Now that is motivation

I read the article on Jarique Moore earlier in The Robesonian. I'm really pulling for that kid. Every single article I have ever read on him has been full of humility and being thankful. It's humbling to see that your coaches believe in kids the way they do, S2V. Your head coach and offensive coordinator seem to be super great guys to the kids. I read the article on Moore and it melted me for a moment to see a coach say that they always knew the kid could be what he became. That itself motivated me. It builds a winning breed. I hope my Vikings beat you, but I am pulling for you in all the rest!

I cant say nothing about those two super power coaches. I am not going to start a bashing contest on here with anyone outside the 2A arena because when I say something extra-terralistic material......the world blows up. Put it this way, I followed Coach Heil from Purnell to Fairmont because I believed in him from day one. OC Coach Cox, I almost put him in the Army when he was in high school, reconnected a couple years later at Fairmont and we are tighter than a coolant recovery cap. They are awesome.

Lets not forget about the rest of the staff. It looks like a family and feels like a family. If you are a great student, athlete with respect, initiative and you show that you want to go somewhere in life, This group of coaches will drop their life savings on that particular individual...

As for Moore, I would give the kid a full ride myself if I had all the money in the world. That is how proud I am for that kid. He will go a long ways, reach his dreams, and raise a great family in his long range calendar. The kid is a beautiful entertainment to watch. I almost thought they were going to triple team him last game.

Thanks for your powerful statement

I hope for the Vikings sake they win all of them and sleep on one:)

Am I the only one that has Fairmont with the win over CF? I really think they will beat CF by multiple TDs. I know their defense is a little shaky but offensively they are top notch. Maybe I'm in a world of my own on this one.

Youre not in another world, it is just that CF is a great program(from what I know). I may be wrong

All I can say, do not allow last years 5-7 record put you to sleep. Fairmont has to stay alert, alive and run their routes mistake free

That's incredible, S2V! I'm smiling tonight! There's no secret in that all this stuff happens for a reason! Your OC dated my buddy's daughter from Cerro Gordo for over a year while he was at Lumberton as an assistant and he always treated us with the upmost respect when he would come with her to church in CG! Being a WC fan first and then getting to know that kid has kind of made me pull for the Tornadoes! They are not together anymore, but the kid just seemed to love the game and want success in his life! It's been fun watching him succeed. I've been hoping he would take the WCHS job, but I know he's built a better resume than to be with us!
That's him.....He has a big heart for the kids, football, family and success

It will be very difficult to over come CF's depth. I imagine that Fairmont will have multiple players going both ways. With the heat tonight they better bank points the first half..

Insert foot into mouth. Damn I didnt know they were that good. Yikes!! You were right on this one for sure!
Carolina Forest is a 5A school this year with about 2240 students, which makes them the 7th biggest school in the state of SC . Fairmont has about 735 students, so we are talking about 3 times the number of students to build a team from.

I know some folks in the CF area and usually go to the beach and catch a game or two each year, so I've seen that CF is sometimes pretty good. Right now they are in the 2nd year under Marc Morris, former head coach of Cleveland and Harnett Central (he had a 96-25 record and a 4A N.C. state title between the 2 schools). Apparently, he has them playing hard.

I see Fairmont coming out of this 0-2 start and having an 8 possibly 9 winning game season. They will have their hands full with South Col hopefully but they should start steam rolling. Not unless I'm missing something with their defense. I know they have the offense to get it done.

Lots of respect to Fairmont in "scheduling up" in their non-conference games. Some just want or in some cases need the wins and therefore look for easier opponents. Fairmont may take a few lumps against these bigger schools now, but it will payoff for them in conference play and better yet in the playoffs. I still have them picked to win the conference.

Fairmont can score until they are blue in the face, but they had better learn how to stop someone in a hurry. I think Ashley scores 40 again this week at least.

Fairmont has a very potent offense, everyone in 2A knows that. The glaring issue is their defense. If they can shore that up, this team definitely would be in the mix for the crown, IMO. If they run into a team like Clinton, who thrives on controlling the clock with a bruising ground game, the Tornadoes would be in deep trouble. Can't do too much when your #1 weapon is on the sideline. Tighten up that defense and that team will be VERY scary!

That's why Fairmont is going to have trouble with South Columbus. South Columbus cannot cover Fairmont. That was obvious after watching Caulder pick them apart twice last year, but South Columbus also had to punt the ball back to them several times. Fairmont will take another loss this week and then lose to SC in conference. They'll go 7-4 in my opinion.
